To be precise (not criticizing, but the distinction is important) that was to seize subjects' guns. We have been citizens since that successful rebellion against tyranny gave us legal rights to match our God-given human rights. January 20, 2009 was a terrible day that set us back on the path to once again becoming subjects of a tyrant, at the mercy of that dictator's whims. This coming Monday marks the commencement of round two of the destruction of that first great experiment in freedom. I hope and pray that freedom will rise again somewhere if we fail here.

Distinction noted. But our forefathers did see themselves as citizens, rather than subjects, I suggest. If they had believed they were subjects, and behaved accordingly, they never would have summoned up the courage to do what they did.

January 20, 2009 was a terrible day that set us back on the path to once again becoming subjects of a tyrant, at the mercy of that dictator's whims. You got that right. And there is no shortage of modern day redcoats (wearing black or blue uniforms saying "FBI", "ATF," "POLICE," "SHERIFF'S DEPT" etc.) on them to enforce the tyrant's whims.
This is how freedom is lost not all at once, but incrementally. A magazine limit here a gun ban there, a tax increase elsewhere, and before you know it you're a slave of the government.
