Reminds me of my dad. Back in the mid 60’s, he was always receiving junk mail from an insurance company. It really torqued him off for some reason.
So, he took a cardboard box and loaded it up with cow manure. Placed the postage paid return envelope on the box with a letter:
“Stop sending me your crap, and I’ll stop sending you mine”.
He took it down to the post office, small town where everyone knew everybody and told them what he was doing. Of course back then they mailed it.
He received no more solicitation from that company.;-)

Folks, this is no big deal for a bank. My bank has accepted bags of coins from me without a problem. They bag ‘em & tag ‘em & send them to be counted, crediting my account a day or so later.

I seriously doubt the bank counted the money on the spot.

In my small home in North Tx paying 2800/yr on property taxes. Sure its less comparing to a northeast state but still its a chunk of change for govt to extort. Over 55% of which goes directly to the public school district. Never had any children so why should I pay so much to public education and its Administration when I get zero benefits in return. Its govt theft as I see it.

The article states that:

he showed up with a wheelbarrow full of change this week.

In the picture you posted, it sure looks like a wagon to me or do the Brits call a wagon, "wheelbarrow"?

My first reaction to the photo, also. I’ve spent too many days on the handles of a wheelbarrow to let that one slip.

As long as you are forced to pay property tax, the property is NOT yours.
Can't disagree, however, one needs to pay for services received, such as schools, sewers, sidewalks, street lighting, police, library, etc.
Problem is greedy politicians abused that by ever increasing tax rates and property assessments to spend on their own pet projects, not for the betterment of the average taxpayer.

My dad kept getting junk from Good Sam travel club. He kept sending the junk back asking to be taken off the mailing list. Finally he taped their post paid envelope to a chunk of granite about the size of a nice pet tombstone with one more request adding “I have larger rocks.”

They took him off of the mailing list.

Over 2/3 of my property tax bill goes to the schools when we home school our children. 1/3 of the taxes we pay for fire protection is wasted on the next township over that does not have a fire department. I pay for a lot of services that I don’t receive. Let me rephrase that, I pay for a lot of theft by my local government.

That relates a bit to our situation, too. We have a large house here in Virginia (25 acres around it) and a smaller house in Pennsylvania (15 acres around it), and we pay almost as much property tax in Pa. as we do in Va. The reason? In that county in Pa. they built this Taj Mahal of an elementary school and jacked up the property taxes.

We have never had any children, yet we have the privilege of paying for the educational expenses of other people's children in two states.

I haven't had a kid in a local school since 1999, but still pay school taxes. Don't mind except for the greedy teachers who won't pull their own weight.
BTW, one of the benefits of high real estate taxes was keeping out the scum who couldn't afford to pay them.
But now we have Section 8 low lifes and their inner city values infesting the suburbs and ruining everyone's way of life.

I think it’s more likely that the journalism major didn’t care about the reality, and just picked whatever words would most conveniently convey HIS message, without having to look too far into the situation. Few care much for facts these days.
