This issue is one of the most frustrating things I have to deal with at work! I have been teaching General Biology for almost 30 years at a community college in NC. I work with several wonderful people of all religious and political beliefs, but they ALL believe in AGW! The textbooks also present this concept as fact. Scientists are supposed to be objective and modify their theories when they discover evidence that contradicts the theory. It’s like this particular issue is so “sacred” to them that they don’t even want to admit that there might be another side to the issue. Without coming on TOO strong, I let my students know that there are many studies that indicate AGW is a bunch of “hot air” and that they should examine all of the evidence before they blindly accept what political correctness says is fact.
People seem to love Snake Oil Salesmen - they nearly voted Algore in as president and fortunately lost but given the second chance, those silly people voted Barry Obama in getting pretty much the same Snake Oil.....which in all probability we will all drown in.
