As CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman pointed out Thursday night, none of the eight coaches hired this offseason was of color. In all, teams went 0-for-8 in hiring minorities (or as Freeman wrote, “0-fer-black”).
Though the Rooney Rule is in place and does lead to minority candidates legitimately interviewing for head coaching jobs, you also have to wonder how effective that mandate is. Well, the NFL has taken notice and plans to do something about it.

But, Ryan’s defensive players weren’t the ones with wide-open passes bouncing off their hands like off the cement sidewalk.
I think the NFL needs to look into the lack of hiring European-Americans for jobs as running backs, cornerbacks, and wide receivers.
I believe that is President’s Day.
Here’s a crazy idea. How about we just ignore skin color and ask... Is he/she qualified for the job? GASP! What!

Take and urn and fill it with 27 white and 5 black balls.
Let the teams have the race of their coach assigned by random draws every 4 years.
An absurd solution, but it least it would get this silly issue off the table.

How many white wide receivers, tailbacks, and cornerbacks are there in the NFL? What about the NBA? How many white sprinters are on the US Olympic team? When I go into Chipotles to get my barbacoa burrito bowl, why is every employee Hispanic? Where does this pc nonsense end?

Yes, but it takes time. After 100+ years of abject failure dealing with the Civil War “contraband”, Operation Import Hispanic Underclass is in full swing (and proceeding ahead of schedule - the numbers race was won by the Hispanics in 2000, 10 years earlier than projected). The restrictions on welfare, coupled with the Operation, should see the project run its course by 2025.
Soon (or not), an NFL team will be forced to hire a one-armed, wheel-chair bound, black/asian, gay transgendered (mythical) dwarf woman for the sake of “diversity” instead of hiring the most qualified person.
I said few, not that there arent any.

It has, but one of the reasons black unemployment is so bad now is that when the going gets tough, the tokens are relieved of their fake jobs.

Poor Steelers! They have suffered, only winning 2 of the last 6 Super Bowls! If you want black QB issues, I’ m a lifelong Eagles fan. When the Steelers won their last Super Bowl, it was nauseating when the first person Dan Rooney thanked in the Lombardi Trophy presentation was Obama.
Response: Let us be frank in the United States the term "minorities" means black. Once again the blacks and their supporters are relying on media pressure and the force of law to compel owners to put a black in charge. The blacks and their supporters are overlooking the fact of competence as a selection criterion. In a strange way by forcing selection of a black just because he is black the perception of black incompetence is strengthened.
Why? Why do we have to ‘look into it’?
