This week is the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in America. Since the decision, over 56 million innocent children have been aborted, an average of 3,835 lives per day. That’s worth repeating: Every day around 3,835 innocent lives are taken by abortion, higher than any other cause, and yet this sad fact is known by so few of the public or rarely reported by the media.
In contrast, consider the public attention brought to Adam Lanza’s shooting spree in Newtown, Connecticut just over a month ago that took the lives of 26 people, including 20 second-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary who left this earth way too early. The tragedy rightfully dominated public consciousness and the news for a week, and the aftermath is still being covered, as it should, as we attempt to discern how to reduce the incident of such attacks.
But should the tragedy of abortion be covered less than the tragedy of Newtown?
In terms of lives lost, the daily number of abortions equates to having almost 150 Newtowns every single day for an entire year for 40 straight years.
And yet there is no daily coverage of this fact. Why does Newtown shock us but not abortion?
Are the innocent lives taken by abortion not as equal, not as valuable to us?
Many would consider abortion an even greater tragedy as the child is not given a chance to live for even one moment on this Earth.
When over 100,000 Americans join the March for Life later this week in Washington, DC, as they do each year, why is it likely to receive so little public attention as it always does? This is despite it being the largest public rally in America almost every single year.
Would not the media intensely cover a 100,000 person march for gun control or mental health legislation that was inspired by Newtown? Of course they would.
Now to be fair, public consciousness has not been entirely absent on matters related to pregnancy. It did recently focus on the announcement by Prince William and Princess Kate that they are having a baby.
Note that all of the media coverage and public discussion of the announcement said that it is a baby, recognition that it is a human life, not merely a glob of tissue. They called it the Royal Baby, not the Royal Glob of Tissue.
If everyone recognizes that it is a baby in Princess Kate’s womb, is it not a baby for all pregnant women? For her being a royal does not change this matter of simple logic.
And if it is a baby, a human life, for all pregnant women, is not the destruction of human life in the womb of all women murder?
It must be.
So we have 3,835 murders via abortion per day on average since 1973, the equivalent of almost 150 Newtowns every single day, and yet we apparently have had more important things to talk about, to care about, like Royal Weddings and the fiscal cliff, all the while this genocide continues before our very eyes.
Will we be part of an indifferent generation?
If you believe in an afterlife and make it there, when you meet the 56 million children who have been aborted in the United States since Roe vs. Wade, what will you say to them when you meet each and every one of them eye-to-eye? Will you tell them you had more important things to be concerned about than their lives?
IMO after any abortion a tubal ligation should be performed to stop the killier from further murders.
Once the decision is made to murder a child they should not be allowed to breed more children they want to kill.
If we can pay for condoms and abortion day-after Pills and Birth Contol we can pay for the operation to sterilise these killers.
How would liberals react if abortions were performed with guns?

Abortion is a woman’s right and it’s not a life yet is the average argument by those that support this infanticide - but then, if a pregnant woman is murdered - the prosecutor has the option in most circumstances (dependent) to charge the offender with double murder - therefore recognizing and playing to the “emotions” that 2 lives were killed - not one...
It’s always nice to play fairy tale when speaking about the Prince and Princess now - because she’s pretty - he lost mom - and the press goo-goo all over her — but that’s a separate issue because at the end of the day - those two emotions about abortion and the pregnant princess are need to stay away from each other — so goes the left mindset...
yes - it’s disgusting - and why i don’t watch the news - rid myself of sat. TV - and just watch my ROKU and read alot — my kids aren’t subject to the propaganda commercials and all the other BS on commercial TV - plus I save alot of money!!!
Was in my clinical this week in training to be an NP. A woman came in, poor, dressed in raggedy clothes. We informed her of her positive pregnancy results. She became tearful, not happy about the news. Of course, the conversation ended up in discussion over “termination options.”
It was pitiful. She was sobbing, and highly upset with EITHER option. But since she is poor, unable to care for the child, in a non-caring, non-committed relationship, she likely was going to abort. She had missed ONE birth control pill the prior month. It happens — and it happens often. In her mind, she had tried to take responsibility for her choice, (at least this is what others tell her) yet it still failed.
Abortion is most cruel to poor women, who are given the choice of raising a child in poverty or eliminating the child, BECAUSE NO ONE IS GOING TO HELP THEM OUT. Abortion allows everyone off, scott free, except the child, of course, and the mother, who has to undergoe this potentially soul and physically scarring procedure.
I have to ask — how does this benefit women?? I thought women were supposed to be farther along now ...more advanced ...more saavy. I thought women were supposed to be liberated now, and free ...happier, endowed with riches and glory!
But they’re not. It’s a JOKE. I want to scream in their faces. It doesn’t benefit anyone but the money grubbing clinics who reap in the profits for it, the men who get to have their good time and walk away, the Democratic party, who received funneled funds through Planned Parenthood, and the rest of the liberal yuckety yucks who push this abomination like it’s the Holy Grail of all that great and good for women and all of society.
I feel the GREATEST deterrent to abortion in this case, would have been a man committed TO HER with the means to support a family — and her being MARRIED TO the man AND the two of them being open to children in their marriage. Where did our country go wrong that we have so little of this anymore? Men can’t work, can’t make a living, and don’t want to if they could. Adults can’t commit.
Birth control failed her and it always eventually does. The liberal’s answer is always more birth control ...but it FAILS and results in even more abortion, more poverty, more uncommitted men and women. And birth control is a business ...believe me. Never seen so many drug reps in my life, driving around pushing it, for profit.
A culture of life, marriage, committment, respect for life and family — THESE are the ONLY things that will reduce abortion rates in America. If ever. But as long as you have these options: birth control and abortion, people will continue to use them and avoid committments. Abortion begets more abortion. Abortion and birth control ...are big business.

Seems to me that if you penalize partners that participate in this conseption, and do not support, or take responsibility/accountability for their actions, then I figure that of course would go a long way to keeping zippers zipped, and girls from accepting boys and men whose only goal is to get a little somefin’-somfin’, no matter what the consequenses are...

That show on TV recently that was to illustrate the promescuity of ONE man (I use the term loosely), and having 11 children from several different partners, I forget which netwrk it ws to be shown...
But the backlash from before the show was even to be aired was enough to get the attention it didn’t want, and last I heard it was being shelved, not to be aired, as yet...
I stand to be corrected on that TV show, but that’s the best thing I had heard on this issue in a long time...
Answer: Because the March for Life organizers are STUPID about public relations.
What's needed is a March for Life in New York City right in front of the all the doors into the major cable stations and in front of the CEOs of these news outlets.
Or keep your damn knees closed, stay in school and learn some employable skills. Then look for a good man (not boy) to marry and then have children, in that order. Everyone I know using that formula never ended up in poverty, or if they hit some bumps, had real, extended family to help, not the government and not for extended periods of time (or life time).
There are few **easy** steps to staying out of poverty.
...Keep one’s legs closed or zipper zipped.
..Stay out of prison
...Don't do drugs or alcohol
... Stay in school
..CHOOSE to learn to read and do basic math and find someone to teach you if the school won't or can't.
.. Go to work every day and be on time ( ANY honest job!)
.. Keep the Ten Commandments everywhere in one’s life.
..Get married BEFORE getting pregnant and then stay married.

Abortion is a traumatic event for most women. A hallmark of trauma is it tends to drive repetition, triggered by relevant stimuli. Repeat abortions are very common, perhaps 40% or more of all abortions. There is no critical thinking involved, and typically the emotions are sufficiently numb that there is little motivation to do something different. Women like that have little to gain from condemnation.
I wonder if all the little children would write to obama and tell him to ban abortions, would he ban them like he did guns......something to think about, sice he uses children as props for a lot of his speeches. Maybe by doing this some libtards heads would explode, I think it would be like fighting fire with fire.
I know this is of no consolation to those who value every life equally. Equally do I doubt that it is of any value to them that G_d quite apparently does not regard such losses equally. The Torah does teach that the value of men, women, and children is not equivalent depending upon the situation. For example, it teaches that when raiding a nest, one takes the chicks and leaves the hen to breed more (yes, I know they are not people, but G_d clearly has strong opinions regarding treatment of his animal creations). Yet the analogy does apply when it comes to the observable relative impact on people. Compare the grief a mother losing a six year old child experiences compared to a miscarriage. The two losses are NOT the same if only by simple observation of the relative emotional trauma on an average basis. Hence, I don't think it is either demographically fair or fair to the families who experienced the loss in Newtown to equate an aborted fetus with a murdered primary school child, all other factors being equal. It carries the implication that (because many of them are liberals) conservatives believe they are hypocrites, which, if anything, alienates them from conservatism entirely. Worse, it shows those advancing that argument to be callous to their loss, while obsessed with their own issues. It is an analogy that is thus destructive to conservative causes, including to protect innocent life. It is quite arguably not loving another as one self. I don't think it a constructive equation.
In Whoopi’s case I beleieve we are lucky.
Anything born to her would be extremely ugly, bigoted, and stupid.
