Most folks don't realize that most of California is rural (there are more NRA members in CA than any other state). They think it is all palm trees, beaches and big cities (I haven't seen a palm tree in over 20 years). Unfortunately, the voting block is in the cities you mentioned.

A lesson from history: When “leaders” show open contempt for, bigotries toward, and prejudices against a region, or a certain “type” of people, they end up gassing them and piling up their skulls some time later. Not gonna happen this time.

I know Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, et al, hate guys like me ... I have heard them for years disparage the “southern gun culture” ... I see the TV programs about all the twangy dumb-ass rednecks noodling for catfish and making rocket powered pickups ... you know typical stuff all of us do when we aren’t bathing in the creek once a week, or sleeping with our sisters ... I see the contempt they have for us in the south, and how easy it is for them to hold their stereotypes and bigotries without any concern that they could be wrong.

All I hope is that they keep underestimating.
