Did Russia just overcome its 20-year demographic crisis?

Since shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia has been struggling with a major demographic crisis. High infant mortality, low childbirth rates, and fleeing emigres have seen the population shrinking by more than half a million citizens every year, at a time when most countries are growing. The shrinking population weakens the Russian economy and imperils the country’s future. It’s bad.

But could Russia’s demographic crisis finally be nearing an end? Forbes’ Russia-watcher Mark Adomanis digs into the latest official data and finds that Russia’s natural population decline appears to have so far leveled off for 2012:

Chechens were radicals, of islamist type, before they learnt islam properly. Just like some American black radicals, who are mostly clueless about their cult but still claim they are muslims, ready to kill infidels and enforce sharia.

It worth mentioning their president, killed by Russian forces (under Boris Yeltsin in 1996) was a Soviet Strategic Air Command general in 1980s. He was a crazed nut, a communist and islamist radical combined, a mediocre airman who has grown through ranks as an ethnic minority thanks to Soviet type of affirmative action program.

Soviet collapse made his brain worse, so he was taken away from nukes and bombers, but he was popular in his home Republic, so he was elected a president.

About this time in 1992 or so he started to play a muslim card against federal government. Along with federal officials, every non-muslim became a collateral victim of this policy.

I know people from there. They have a lot of stories to tell how peaceful (not) Chechens are.
