Just recently, I was listening to some talk show, and a black conservative woman said “Do you know why slaves were not allowed to own guns? - because then they wouldn’t be slaves anymore!”.

I’m so very sorry to hear of your heartbreak (and stresser!) this weekend. Surreal is about the only way to describe what unfolded before you. His poor daughter & grandkids. And the people at the church who did CPR.
We have a friend who is a nurse—she “lost” a pt as a “good Samaritan” in a Giant Eagle. The man had a massive HA...and was pretty much gone by the time paramedics arrived (really quickly). She was badly shaken up.
On a happy note, I’m glad I finally got to hear the Toots comment from last week. I missed it (but Yinz posting about it). Oh my...and I bet Rose DOES have to have someone investigate her emails. There are days I want MINE investigated!!! Because I don’t think I’m REALLY related to Ethiopian royalty and that my Great, Great Uncle Imar is leaving me his fortune.
When I arrived at daughter’s house (about 20 mins ago) heard the oddest rumble sound on her street (but it sounded like it was from further away). It was a heavy flurry...and looking at the morning sky, it was a weird orangey burgundy (Northern lights?) color and I TOO thought of “red sky at morning, sailors take warning.” Maybe Mrs. P6 and I are tuning “into” something :-/

There was a huge solar flare last week that was supposed to create northern lights.
Weird. Friday morning, as Mr S and I were leaving for work, I looked at the sky and said the exact same thing to him. “Red sky at morning, sailors take warning”.
We both have today off. He’s sleeping in. Strange thing; sometime in the night I felt three taps on my leg, which was sticking out from under the blanket. Nothing there to tap my leg. Mr S saw a greenish figure at the foot of my side of the bed several months ago. He said it was a woman and she looked to be shooing the cat off of the bed (the cat did jump down, in fact). I think he was dreaming. He says he wasn’t.
Very weird.
Btw, everyone—Rush is off today too. The excellent Mark Steyn will his undocumented (yet thoroughly dreamy) fill in.
I still crack up thinking of Rush’s reaction to Immaculation1.0. During the entire show, he had the sound of a constant “tap, tap, tap.” It was Dear Leader’s words being etched in stone. Funny as heck.
OoOOOOO! Love Mark Steyn! I’ll be listening. And they are showing all Disney movies on On Demand. Last night we watched “Robin Hood”. We watched “Cinderella” a couple of days ago. Maybe tonight it will be “Lady and the Tramp”!
Better to watch wholesome Disney movies than the other crap on tv these days.
I’m pretty tired. I didnt sleep...had an unsettling dream about today (the Immaculation). I dreamt I couldn’t get home from daughter’s house as roads were closed and no one could drive. I joked up thread about watching Disney today, but I found I couldn’t drive home from a warning on the screen, but I couldn’t find out what happened. The dream was so vivid I actually changed my plans of what I wore today. In the dream, I was wearing the sweatshirt I had laid out. I remember seeing my hands hdo g their remote. It was so vivid and weird.
I thought at first it’s because I DON’T WANT THEM TO LEAVE (son in law looking at a job offer in CO). But it was too specific about TODAY.
Thanks Greg. Yep, 51 is definitely too young. DIL’s dad was only 52. Cancer. wow, I love the song “Danny Boy”. Very moving. I’m familiar with that church. Went to confession there a couple of times. You’re right about getting a conservative in to take Lugar’s place. It will be a disaster if the Won puts another lib justice in the Supreme Court!

Well, she might have seen the writing on the wall and let that work to her advantage. Romney bombed and Karl Rove completely discreditted himself Election Night. Tea Party isn’t giving up, our numbers are slowly increasing in the House and making their/our voice heard. Her time may still be ahead, God willing.
