Just an observation- if you are using calibers like 7mm, .300 Winchester Magnum, or other calibers not commonly used for self-defense, there’s still ammo out there.... Dropped by an Academy sporting store and bought some fodder for some handguns to celebrate Gun Appreciation day this weekend. .40, .45, 5.56 NATO, 7.62x39, etc. were limited to two boxes each- and the shelves of those were bare.

I noticed the same thing w/ 10mm. Granted, ammo for it has always been a little pricey with a fairly limited selection in most stores, but in my experience so far, there's not been any real significant change in price or availability.
