Obama seeks to split Republican Party into warring factions before 2014 midterm election

Barack Obama’s top political aide used an Inauguration Day interview to sketch out a provocative political strategy intended to split the Republican Party in time to impact the 2014 midterm elections.

“The barrier to progress here in many respects, whether it is deficits, measures to help economy, immigration, gun safety legislation … is [that] there are factions here in Congress, Republicans in Congress, who are out of the mainstream,” White House advisor David Plouffe said on CNN’s “State of the Union with Candy Crowley.”

“We need more Republicans in Congress to think like Republicans in the country who are seeking compromise, seeking balance,” he claimed.

Spending = taxes. It comes out of our hides one way or another. Bush raised spending = Bush raised taxes.

“Good grief, not even allowing the very words “tea party” to be uttered during the GOP convention! Unbelievable.”

Hmmm... would that be like the Whigs not permitting the mention of the name “Republican” back around 1856 ??

There has been no “progress” in 75 years. Even Reagan only slowed the devolution a tiny bit.

The Republican Party, sad to say, is just as corrupt as the Democrat Party. They are like a social club, they may have disagreements among each other but they are the ones in the club as members while everyone else (we the people) is outside looking in. They spread the cronyism around, they share the lobbyists, they make the deals that profit them and they’ll destroy anyone together ( Notice the GOP Establishment runs to the liberal media to attack conservatives) that tries to shake things up for the good of our nation and not themselves or their friends

Right now, the object is to stop Oboma. Period.

Wrong. We just did that in November. How did that work out?

Right now, the beltway GOP has to earn our votes by providing effective opposition to the marxist in the white house. Tip toeing through the tulips and then settling for a cut of spending pie has not been effect opposition the last 4 years.

If they want our votes in 2014, they better stand and delivery. Starting now.

If the beltway GOP is not going to strongly oppose the kenyan we might as well vote Dem and get this over quicker.

Gee...the GOP is dividing themselves all by themselves

So many PhonyCon Liberals in the GOP pushing Illegal Alien Amnesty, attacking Obama Eligibility people, raising taxes....heck Obama doesn’t need to even get involved

Problem is we have way too many PhonyCon RINOs in the GOP who rather please Obama than to represent the conservative base

“The Republican Party, sad to say, is just as corrupt as the Democrat Party”

no doubt. But the Republicans didn’t implement SS, Welfare, ObamaCare, and other big entitlements that lead us to bigger and bigger Government.

So pick your poison - I’d rather slow tide to socialism for our kids or would you rather accelerate it?

Amen. Disparate opinions on personalities, rhetoric, etc., WILL come together FOR single issues, or single actions. We are so self absorbed with our own preferences and opinions, we are no longer pose even a challenge to Marxism. Newt got that right.

Blacks marched for the 2A this week. Anyone give them a call? Doubtful.

Basically, we have no fighters in DC, or even psyche majors among our representatives in DC. We are on our own to formulate a unified plan, or front, or cause, or opinion and to get unified and organized.

Yep and you could roughly say the Reagan and Bush slowed it, and even Clinton to some extent because he had to deal with a Republican congress. When you get all dems you get rapid change so is that what we are going for ?

“Spending = taxes. It comes out of our hides one way or another. Bush raised spending = Bush raised taxes.”

Not quite, but irregardless people need to look at victories one at a time. We should take the tax cuts as a victory (because we really don’t want increased taxes) and work on spending cuts now.

If this was a war I’d have to think we’d be happy winning this battle. Now we fight the next. Victory doesn’t happen all at once.

The people that disagree with Obama and his plans had better start sticking together to get rid of him.

“There are so many DU and Ron Paul libertarian plants here it makes me puke.”

People like you sir are why BHO is now president. A sizable portion of the GOP (Tea Partiers and Ron Paul Supporters) were alienated by the establishment GOP at and after the convention. Their issues and concerns were ridiculed and ignored. They were essentially told to “piss off”. And guess what? They did. If Ron Paul’s supporters had showed up and voted for the GOP candidate, he would have won.
