Groupon can do things to enhance their corporate image with their target client group. Personally, the Dem's have aligned with the welfare recipients. If Groupon wants to alienate me and people who have saved real money and have the money to pay for luxury items but want to be frugal in what they pay for them, then that is their choice.

Personally, there are lots of alternatives to Groupon, in particular a local Conservative talk radio station has “deals” from their website. I now know that Groupon is not getting my money based on their preferences.
