Justin Bieber with his mom, Pattie Mallette.
HOLLYWOOD, January 22, 2013, (LifeSiteNews.com) – An anonymous "longtime associate" of teen idol Justin Bieber has implied there is a split between the star and his mother over the issue of abortion.
His mother, Pattie Mallette, recently signed on as executive producer of Crescendo, a film that promotes the pro-life message by presenting the life of Ludwig van Beethoven. She is also trying to raise $10 million to benefit crisis pregnancy centers, like the one that saved Justin's life.
The unnamed source told the Chicago Sun-Times on Sunday that “Justin just is very uncomfortable about political issues — especially ones like abortion that are very divisive. He’s all about entertaining his fans with his music and not interested in pushing a political agenda.”
The source ended an otherwise de rigueur attempt to distance the pop culture phenomenon from controversy by saying, “Furthermore, I don’t believe he agrees with his mom on this issue.”
The spokesperson added after stories of Bieber's alleged drug use and an embarrassing photo on Twitter, “He doesn’t need this [his mother’s role in the anti-abortion film] on top of it.”
If accurate, this would represent a massive shift in the star's view of abortion in just over a year.
“I really don’t believe in abortion,” Bieber himself told Rolling Stone magazine in 2011. “I think it is a human. It’s like killing a baby.”
Pro-life groups, including LifeSiteNews.com, Stand True Ministries, and Live Action created a Facebook page at the time proclaiming, “I Love Justin Bieber's Pro-Life Views.”
Bieber has personal reasons to support women who choose life. His mother revealed that childhood sexual abuse led to a familiar cycle of early drinking, drugs, and sexual activity that culminated with her becoming pregnant at 17. She resisted pressure to abort Justin.
The new film, Crescendo, details how the contemporaries of Beethoven's mother had low expectations for any child she was likely to bear.
Sun-Times writer Bill Zwecker editorialized that Bieber's allegedly revised stance “likely will come as a big relief to his core audience of girls and young women, not all of whom would agree with Mallette’s views.” However, polls show younger people are more likely to be pro-life than those who became pregnant before the advent of ultrasounds.
I am sure the Hollyweird establishment has been trying to get to him
Perhaps the "child" star, who is no longer a child, has read the writing on the Hollywood wall that says he must redefine himself as one of them, for continued success, or quit the scene.
I take this with a grain of salt. An un-named “longtime associate” is not a spokesperson and it could very well be said associate’s own personal opinion.
Bieber The Baby Killer?
I agree. I am not a fan of the Beber (I am not a 12 year old girl), but this reeks of a 'non-story'. 'Some un-named acquaintance of Mr. Bieber says that maybe he thinks such and such...'
Even if I cared two-bits about news from our Entertainer and Minstrel class (the majority who never completed high school), a half-arsed comment from some anonymous source about what someone maybe thinks is useless grist...
Now go back to your acting gig on Bluebloods, Mr. Bieber.
He is just try to do what Laura Ingraham told him to do.
I’m not a fan of Justin’s music, but he IS a good kid.
“Hitting theaters Friday is Biebers new 3-D concert film/documentary titled, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which is being marketed to the faith and family-friendly crowd.
The Paramount Pictures flick has been screened for faith leaders across the nation and it comes with a spiritual resource guide for those who are interested. The guide includes Bible verses related to the movie that can be used in small groups.
[The movie] provides an opportunity to teach our children about the power of hope, prayer, faith and family, reads the guide.
In the film, Bieber is shown praying before concerts and saying grace before meals, among other expressions of his Christian faith. His mother, Pattie Mallette, shares in the film how faith helped stabilized her life as a single teen mother.

He was raised right. The kid has morals.
Maybe he just might have some influence of today’s immoral youth.
If people want to complain about some of today’s ‘stars’, then complain about the rappers who compose/’sing’ about killing whites, cops and ‘hos!
Can you just imagine the unbearable pressures on this kid with sudden wealth and access to celebs beyond your wildest imagination?
The slimey Libs are trying to remake him in their own image.
I hope this young man will stay strong and not abandon the values his mother taught him.

- Beiber/Obama 2016 -
oh the terrible pressure!
- I’ve been oppressed by the CA & FL cops!
Bieber was busted by Miama police early this morning. He was arrested for DUI and street racing. More details are coming out, so stayed tuned for more goodness.

You have got to be kidding. If he’s you’re idea of a good “kid”, you must set your standards really low.
He was a good kid in the beginning, but people the likes of you just wouldn’t let him alone. You insisted on making fun of him when he had done nothing but try to cope with his fame and live right.
This, in combination with the hangers-on, the dope peddlers and exploiters finally brought him down.
Now he’s really down with the scum of the earth.
I hope you’re all happy.
While I feel sorry for Bieber, he’s no singer.
There are no singers left today.
There will never be another to equal this one.
Especially pay attention to him starting at 2:16

However, I DO lay a lot of blame on his parents. He evidently was raised with no religious training, no morals, no discipline not enough TRUE loving, concerned attention....and no father.
Not too different from so many of today's ghetto kids.
