Other than hardcore feminists, I can't imagine any woman thinking this is a good thing. The day will come when we need a return to the draft, especially given that the boob in the WH is hollowing out our military and inviting an attack. What will the public think as their daughters are drafted? When the first woman gives birth to a baby with birth defects, or has a miscarriage after being involved in combat, will the lawsuits start flying?

Finally why is this policy pushed through without any discussion whatsoever?

But just moments ago I heard ABC radio news report that "women", with no qualifiers and therefore meaning all of womandom, are "celebrating" the announcement. So clearly you must be mistaken.

The woman interviewed is a friend of ours. She is absolutely amazing! Her dad and husband were also in the military.

“The day will come when we need a return to the draft”

I assure you with 100% confidence that such a day will never come; when the next president pardoned those who dodged the draft in Vietnam, a hippie who legally evaded the draft beat 2 WWII veterans for president, and our former enemy (North Vietnam) is our “friend” within 2 decades of the fall of Saigon, nobody would show up.

As our country goes to war with traditional societies that are slowly inheriting the Earth, I don’t know why anyone with any sense of morality would even enlist at this point. If it’s about a job, call them what they are: mercenaries. I watch US troops try to spread “women’s rights” (legalized abortion) and gay rights, and have to think that these are not missions for which America should be throwing away its young.

Other than hardcore feminists, I can't imagine any woman thinking this is a good thing...yet in a supposedly random set of interviews with about six people in downtown Philly on TV tonight, every one, male and female young and old, black and white thought this was a good idea - "why not? red yellow, black, white, everybody should have a chance to fight for the country" was approximately how one reply went - the simple thoughtlessness of the typical American is literally breathtaking......
