Remember the old show 'Crossfire'? On the left...Barack Obama...on the right..?

Exactly. Where's our 'hero'? Have they ALL been cowed?

From paualready.wordpress.com:
Spoiler ALERT -Inaugural Speech by the ‘Virtual President’ (V-POTUS) Is In The Edit Process

...He promises to answer the questions like a conservative president would. His purpose is to educate both perspective conservative candidates and voters. I personally cannot wait.

His new website (not up yet) is http://www.CommonSenseResistence.com so watch for it.

MORE "practice" for the new thread:

Virtual President” BILL WHITTLE plans to “shadow” Obama.
Will it work? How can we help?

"FReeper Editorial" by RonDog

Here are some of **my** thoughts on how we can best help Bill Whittle
in his quest to restore the traditional conservative values
which made this country great.

(Please post **your** thoughts here, too.)
Andrew Breitbart:
"Politics is downstream from culture." [etc.]

It's ALMOST "show time"!

Here is my NEW (non-"Spiderman") intro:

"Virtual President" BILL WHITTLE plans to "shadow" Obama.

Will it work? How can we help?

"FReeper Editorial"
by RonDog

Here are some of **my** thoughts on how we can best help Bill Whittle
in his quest to restore the traditional conservative values
which made this country great.

(Please post **your** thoughts here, too.)
Andrew Breitbart:
"Politics is downstream from culture."
Bill Whittle:
"Like all cultures, we get our values and morality from our mythology – and in 20th and 21st century America,
our mythology mostly comes to us through the movies."
Dr. Nekhorvich:
"Every search for a hero must begin with
something which every hero requires, a villain."

(Image from http://barbaricthoughts.com)
In our current political environment, of course, this situation is reversed.

We already have a villian (Obama) -- but until now, no one on our side has been willing and/or able to be the hero.

Enter Bill Whittle, the reluctant hero -- for now.
Perhaps Bill is just at the right place at the right time, or maybe it's a case of "opportunity meets preparedness."
In any event, it appears that Bill Whittle may soon "have greatness thrust upon him," by default.
The "alternative" media have been buzzing about his "fire-breathing" defense of traditional conservative values
during a short (but powerful) address to David Horowitz's Restoration Weekend last November.
Like Rush Limbaugh and Ronald Reagan before him, Bill Whittle energizes ordinary Americans by validating their deeply held beliefs
with his full-throated, and logically consistent defense of small government and private enterprise, wealth creation,
individual liberty, American exceptionalism -- and many of our OTHER traditional conservative values.
Today's release of his "Virtual Inaugural" video marks the beginning of a two-year quest to "shadow" President Obama --
to go where he goes (figuratively) -- and do what he does (virtually).

Bill Whittle intends to show the world how a CONSERVATIVE "virtual" President would respond to the same current events --
and answer the same kind of questions from the media -- as the current LEFTIST non-"virtual" President does.
His goal is to show the American people what they **could have** had, if they had elected a better President LAST time --
and to show the current "leaders" in our party how to effectively communicate our superior values NEXT time, if any will listen.
And if our current "leaders" will NOT listen, Bill may just have to do THEIR job for them, too. ;)

So, what do **you** think about Bill's plans?

Here is the NEW and IMPROVED version:
Antonio del Drago:
"For a fantasy story to be truly great, it needs a memorable villain...
...willing to violate accepted moral principles in order to accomplish their goals.
Earl Babbie:
"What sets heroes aside from the rest of humanity is the willingness to assume a
personal responsibility for public problems."

(image from http://barbaricthoughts.com)
In our current political environment, of course, we already have a villian (Obama) --

but until now, no one on our side has been willing and/or able to be the hero.

Enter Bill Whittle, the reluctant hero -- for now...

Here is an UPDATE (finally!) from Bill Whittle's Facebook fan page:
In other news... the Virtual Inaugural -
which is without question the most labor-intensive thing I have ever done
(with the possible exception of THE DOWD CONUNDRUM) is finished.
Just waiting on the new website.

Probably 24-48 hours until we launch that puppy.

While we're waiting for Bill's new video/website to go live, here's a little more "thread prep" for the NEW thread.

If you fear the future of this great country, or depair at the apparent lack of leadership on OUR side...

...you will profit immensely from watching Bill make the case about what we need to do NEXT.
Bill Whittle's thought-provoking message (recorded on the night of the election) really helped me to keep my sanity!

This is 90 minutes, and not an easy 90 minutes... but if you are feeling lost and full of despair perhaps it will help.

It is not cheerleading and it is not an Oprah hug. But it might be the start of something... something *wonderful.*

Common Sense Resistance
by Maksim on November 7, 2012

I’m sure most know who Bill Whittle is. He made this video late last night just hours after the election was decided.
It is long (90 minutes), he rambles some, gets off point at times, but what he lays out is truly revolutionary.

It should be watched in its entirety. (I’ve watched it twice so far)

You may scoff and dismiss it, or just disagree, that’s fine it’s an idea that’s not for everyone.
I found it to be potentially the start of something truly amazing and I wanted to share it.

BTW: Don’t misunderstand him, he’s not trying to sell you anything, he’s just expressing an idea.

It gets really good about 40 minutes in, and the end is amazing.
Don’t you dare skip ahead you will lose the context.

More "thread prep" for the NEW new thread. ;)

"FReeper Editorial" by RonDog

Last week's release of Bill Whittle's "Virtual Inaugural" video marked the beginning of his two-year quest to "shadow" President Obama --
to go where Obama goes (figuratively) -- and do what Obama does (virtually).

Today, with the release of this first installment of his "Virtual State of the Union" speech,
"V-POTUS" Whittle takes that "virtual" crusade against the Obama machine to the NEXT level. ;)

As I posted on the original "V-POTUS" thread:
BILL WHITTLE launches MrVirtualPresident.com to "shadow" Obama,
releases "Virtual Inaugural" video
Bill Whittle intends to show the world how a CONSERVATIVE "virtual" President would respond to the same current events --
and answer the same kind of questions from the media -- as the current LEFTIST non-"virtual" President does.
His goal is to show the American people what they **could have** had, if they had elected a better President LAST time --
and to show the current "leaders" in our party how to effectively communicate our superior values NEXT time, if any will listen.
To follow will be some of **my** thoughts on how we can best help Bill Whittle
in his quest to restore the traditional conservative values
which made this country great.

(Please post **your** thoughts here, too.)

In case you missed it, here is Bill Whittle's PREVIOUS "Virtual President" video,
as posted (with commentary) on americanelephant.wordpress.com:

Bill Whittle has a marvelous way of getting right to the heart of things.

His Virtual Inaugural is meant to be dissent.
He doesn’t agree with the direction of this administration, and
he presents an alternative Inaugural address to explain the difference.

I’m with Bill Whittle.
If all Republicans could speak as clearly as he does, we’d be a lot better off.

Here is a transcript of the speech [corrected] to download.

It’s worth reading over several times and thinking about.

It’s easy to dissent, to disapprove of policies and actions of this government,
but not so easy to spell out what we would do instead.

This is truly food for thought, to be pondered, not just scanned and passed over.
Enjoy.

This just in, from bill Whittle's Facebook fan page:
We heard that tonight's Obama's SOTU speech was going to be "aggressive,"
so we decided to hold the response until we can see
if he plans to scuttle the Navy or ban waffles
or whatever comes next.

I'm traveling to DC until Thursday;
we'll shoot the response Thursday night.

Sorry about the delay.
