HOW TO MAKE A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLEHILL
This is a foolish move by the promoter, Reed Exhibitions.
For all practical purposes a postponement means the death of the show.
Their original decision was troublesome.
They compounded that with a decision that is disastrous.
Exhibitors plan and schedule their shows many months in advance and will already have commitments to other shows nationwide in coming weeks.
It will be impossible for Reed to reschedule a show of this magnitude on relatively sort notice.
All they had to do is say that in fairness to exhibitors and buyers they had decided to delay any policy changes and will restore the original rules and guidelines and lift the arbitrary ban on AR style rifles for this show.
Exhibitors had to deposit money up front to reserve table space. Now they will demand the deposit money be refunded.
If it isn’t promptly returned, the resultant lawsuits will keep lawyers busy for years.
Additionally, some exhibitors may decide to sue for expenses incurred and damages because they could have attended other shows if they had not been committed to the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.
RIP, Reed Exhibitions. If the market remains lucrative, companies who are in tune with America will take your place...
