Yeah, a population explosion of mice and rats is much more preferable. sarc/

Cats are obsolete. Sticky traps effectively control mice and rats.
There a host of improved traps that don’t piss in the house.

The only times any of my cats have relieved themselves anywhere other than the litterbox were when we let it get really dirty (a good indicator of this is finding a cat turd just outside the box!).
And you never have to bait or reset a cat.

Don't like cats? Google "black death" and see if you like 'em any better.

Cats that are allowed outside don't urinate in the house either. They also like to bury their defecation. Our cat helps keep all manner of varmint from my wife's garden. We really don't need shrews around.
Field mice are unconcerned about glue traps unless they come upon a warm garage.

Townhall’s C. Payne reports on a New Zealand pol who demonstrates once elected pols have a license not only to steal but make laws to eliminate house pets like cats because the pol hates cats.

Cats will never be your slave. Some humans react to their psyche with admiration, others with anger.

My wife’s cat is a natural born killer. His trademark is to bite the heads off chipmunks and mice and leave the remains on the deck. I havent seen many bird remains but he even somehow managed to kill a crow.

During the times of plague, some medieval towns eradicated cats as familiars of the devil. The rat populations exploded and many foolish humans died as a result. There was a reason that many ships carried a ships cat or two in the later years.
The nitwit recommending this will next tell his constituents that they must be resettled because they are now a threat to the birds, or that dogs upset the birds mating habits so now the dogs have to go.

Cats are obsolete.
Have you told God that? How many more of God’s creations do you consider obsolete? Birds? Fish? Elephants? Dogs? Wolves?
