>>Vardi poses an equally scary question: “Are we prepared for an economy in which 50 percent of people aren’t working?”<<

History shows that people will simply find new ways to earn a living.

At one point in our history, 30-40% of our population was involved in farming. Now it's about 5%

The big issue is whether these new jobs are going to be done by a creative , dynamic, and innovative entrepreneurial class in a free and open society filled with opportunity an upward mobility, or if if these new jobs are going to be oppressive, soul killing, Soviet Union style government make work drudgery in a non free, closed society with little or no opportunity or upward mobility in an intrusive nanny state that engineers poverty and scarcity.

America voted for the second option in 2012 and that is the direction we are headed.
