Evolution is based on a branched model of diversification and is supported by comparative anatomy and these days by comparative genomics. It's not a linear model with links. That's a strawman. Evolution is a theory and it is the best explanatory model we have. It is subject to revision and improvement. If you ever observe supernatural creation and it can be observed by others then the model will be revised.

I think misrepresenting what we see in God's creation in order to preserve creation myths does drive people away from religion and God.

We both know it is your desire to righteous with God that is your motivation. That is only halfway good. The desire is good but if it follows a false or unreasonable path it leads to destruction, like the fools who say socialism is good but we just have not found a way to do it right yet. Socialism is inherently evil to mankind and no way to implement will ever work.

You have to realize fossils are rare things, they are only form under special conditions, of course they are going to paint an incomplete picture. Last I heard there were only 7 Tyrannosaurus Rex fossils found on the entire earth!

You really are beating a dead horse here, the story of evolution is validated by numerous independent paths, Astronomy, Geology , Physics, Chemistry and Biology all arrive at the identical answer : The Earth is 4.5 Billion years old and life changes with the times.
