This is probably a dumb question but: Since most Americans are against this why are both parties for it?
It helps the democrats get welfare votes, I understand this, but what do republicans get out of this?
Surely standing against this will get them support from white and black americans (and probably a fair amount of hispanic voters as they don’t want the job market flooded with these people either)
Stop asking rational questions! It is our destiny to be enslaved by the invaders from the south, amigo. IF this amnesty thing goes through, the demographics will ensure democrat majorities as far as the eye can see. What the idiot democrat politicians do not understand is that their jobs are on the line.
Example: John Smith, a democrat, wins an election where the republicans always won. He won due to the sudden shift in voting demographics brought by amnesty. Hurrah for the democrats. Next election, John Smith loses in the primary to Juan Ortiz-Rodriguez-Sanchez and Juan wins the general election. Oops! And corruption? John Smith and friends ain't seen nothing yet. Political corruption south of the border is a way of life. And Juan? He is pushing for another amnesty bill that will allow MORE of his amigos to loot the treasury and displace the idiots who call themselves Americans.
Corporate $$$. As much as some on FR idealize big business, corporations care only about the bottom line. Cheap labor =’s cash in their pocket. And they’ll support any and every GOP candidate that gives it to them.
