IF 'ASSAULT WEAPONS' ARE BAD...WHY DOES DHS WANT TO BUY 7,000 OF THEM FOR 'PERSONAL DEFENSE'?

FReepers, this is what just went to my Congressional reps:

I am reading on Fox News that Department of Homeland Security is ordering 7000 MACHINE GUNS for use against the American people. A MACHINE GUN is defined as a weapon capable of fully automatic fire. And Obama wants to keep semi-automatic weapons out of the hands of the American people? This arming of the government for use against American citizens is exactly why the Founders crafted the Second Amendment, and I encourage you to defund this request from Homeland Security and resist any attempt by the Obama Administration to erode our God-given, not government given right to defend ourselves against tyranny.

Good for you. The only way to stop this anti-gun foolishness is to bombard our elected reps with emails, letters, faxes, and phone calls.

TAKE ACTION NOW TO PROTECT GUN RIGHTS

If you want to contact your reps from here... Write a polite and factual letter to the president and each of your elected representatives in Washington. Keep it short and sweet and to the point (e.g., "I urge you to oppose Sen. Feinstein's gun control legislation" and/or "why is the Dept. of Homeland Security buying 'assault' weapons for 'personal security' yet denying good citizens the same right?"). State the facts. Follow up by calling each of your elected reps, making a short statement emphasizing what you composed in your letter. Using any/all of the following links, you'll find the resources you need to:

1) email, send a letter to, and call the president;
2) email, send a letter to, fax, and call your two senators and your House representative; and,
3) write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.

Time to reverse the 1968 Gun Control Act. Let the People have some of those Personal Defense Weapons.

Easier than that: Write your congress critters and say the following:

"In order to create more manufacturing jobs and show the support for the 2nd Amendment, I urge you to insert a repeal of 18 USC 922(o) as either a stand alone law, or an amendment to any future legislation". Thank you!
