White House Petition Demands Cellphone Unlocking Remain Legal

A petition submitted to the White House demands the Librarian of Congress to rescind his recent decision which removed the unlocking of cellphones from the exceptions to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Not suggesting anyone sign the petition, perhaps contacting our representatives would be better. I guess I've just been ignorant all my life, but I never knew the LIBRARIAN OF CONGRESS could interpret laws that would make my phone a paperweight, AFTER I FULFILLED MY CONTRACT, unless I stay slaved to the provider I BOUGHT it from! I'm mad!!!

Has anyone ever heard of any rule or law previously interpreted by this librarian office? Sure a first for me.

This must be just another in the nutty “scare em” tactics from nobama that’ll disappear in a day or two.

I say people who text while driving be shot on sight.

As long as you include people reading, putting on make up, eating, changing the radio station, or talking to someone in the car, I agree.

LOL! The worst I ever seen was a few years ago driving on the Long Island expressway behind a guy who had something propped up on the top of his steering wheel. And as I went to drive around him, I saw it was a book! The freakin’ dude was reading a BOOK while driving 70 MPh! Hey what the hell, these cars today drive themselves!
