DENVER - Demonstrators demanding stricter gun laws gathered outside the Colorado State Capitol at noon on Monday.
More than 100 gun-control supporters rallied on the Capitol steps with signs that said "Let Us Live."
The gun violence prevention rally was organized by Together Colorado, a group that specializes in community organizing.
The rally included speeches and presentation by friends and family of gun violence victims, religious leaders, elected officials and other advocates of stricter regulations on firearms.

And if we say no, what are you going to do about it? You dont have any guns. However, feel free to continue begging for your lives.

But if you buy a gun ... and learn to use it ... and carry it for self defense ...
You'll have a fighting chance.

Thank you. To all who read this, my experience is in family rights advocacy (’90s). Rallies in favor of the Second Amendment, like other rallies, are good for presenting to and swaying the populace in general. That’s important.
But many politicians don’t regard rallies as being important and are more concerned with what they can get from the influential (and wealthy) constituents we don’t see. So action behind the scenes is also very important. Write to members of state assemblies, congress, all. Contribute to pro-Second-Amendment organizations—especially those in your states. They counter the efforts of anti-Second-Amendment constituents who lurk in the shadows and exert much influence.
On your comment #1, yes. Most Democrats are now in favor of their Second Amendment rights. Their Party is losing many of them on that issue, just as it began obviously losing some of them (fewer) on feminism in 2004 (see Hillary losing). And yes, they have a long way to go in learning (about counterproductive, freedom-busting regulations, for one).
The current anti-Second-Amendment efforts are driven by relatively small numbers of people with much influence (see money). Those people try to use both political parties. Pro-Second-Amendment voters are majorities in both political parties. As many of you may have guessed by now, gun control is a class issue for anti-Second-Amendment folks afraid of those of us with less class. ;-) But also know this. Many wealthier people are *not* working against our Second Amendment. Many have earned their incomes honestly and have none of the guilt that compels others to fear.
Disarming Americans is not a good answer to fears. Better government is the answer. I see more hysteria and instigations of panic in political speech than ever before. That should be a clue to what we’re dealing with. In the past, leaders tended toward trying to calm the population, even in rough times.
Members of Congress and state assemblies have not been receiving enough mail from us. We need to get going. We don’t have all of the money, but we have the votes. Let ‘em know. And do contribute to the organizations working in favor of our Second Amendment. Money (for lobbying, campaign funds, etc.) is a fact of life in politics.
