The U.S. government has approved the sale of U.S. taxpayer-backed A123 Systems to a Chinese company, despite security and economic concerns about sensitive technology changing hands.
A representative with A123 Systems confirmed Tuesday to FoxNews.com that Wanxiang America Corp. has gotten approval from a Treasury Department agency to take over "substantially all" of the non-government business assets of the lithium ion battery manufacturer.
"We're pleased the government has completed its review and provided us with the go-ahead to finalize this transaction," Pin Ni, president of Wanxiang America, said in a written statement.
A representative with the Treasury Department's Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which would have made the decision, declined to comment

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Zero you SOB
This act isn’t worth the money we spend to see it. Get the hook, and get these actors off the stage.
How long will it be before Obastard bad mouths industries for shipping jobs overseas.
We knew this was going to happened, it just isn’t easy to watch. Traitor or is it treason?
What’s going to happen. Is anyone in the US who has the authority to put a stop to this coup going to do it?
I am sick to my stomach each and every day. With stress.
Well, how else is BO supposed to keep the ChiComs interested in buying more U.S. debt? < / sarcasm >
One way that I avoid stress is to study Asian historical/folk stories and Asian attitudes in particular. There are similarities to American Indian attitudes, whether some Asians like to hear that or not. ;-) Another way is to focus some time on study of technical and small agricultural pursuits related to becoming more self-sufficient and lowering personal costs in the future. Also, warmer weather is on the way. That, and exercise, will help much.
I have a lot of useful and engaging things to do, that I really love to do. I do them some, but not enough. The only way for me to not read news and get sickened is to not read any at all.
But I can’t seem to do that.
I have art projects, writing projects, herb work and clients and study, sewing I have to do, I play music and write songs and poems... Gotta study caligraphy again. And order some more seeds, garden time in a bit. I could do so much more and I admittedly spend way too much time reading news and not commenting or pinging much any more lately. I feel very helpless like a tiny ant in a tsunami.
My only solace is my 100% conviction that God is the supreme controller of all that be, and the wellwisher of all souls, and He will direct everything as He wills.
And that is enough solace, and there is no other.
I think I need to stay away from news for a while.
