Once again Obama proves himself an ignorant fool. Even the "first Americans" (who should rightfully be called "first immigrants") came "from somewhere else".....specifically northeast Asia. The only real "native Americans" are those born here...no matter what their ancestry.
My oldest daughter had the answer to that crap when she was in high school.
As a little kid one time before St. Patrick's day, she asked me if we were Irish. I told her then that yes, some of her ancestors came from Ireland, but others came from other places and that she, her parents, her grandparents and even beyond that were all born in America, and that she was just an American, nothing else. I guess that stuck with her. We never really talked about it again.
Fast forward years later in a high school civics class she came home and told me she might be in trouble at school. I asked her what happened and she explained. It was toward the end of the year and the teacher after doing all the politically correct stuff they do on history and civics went around the class room asking the kids what 'nationality' they were. The typical answers came from the kids before my daughter... Irish, Italian, Polish... etc.
When he got to my daughter, I guess she remembered what I had told her when she was a little kid, and she said "I'm an American."
He said are you an Indian? She said no, but he had taught her that the Indians came to America 10,000 years ago from Asia, and her ancestors came here later from other places, but that she was born here, her parents and grandparents and great grandparents were born here, and then she asked... "How long do you have to be here to be a Native American?"
With that, she said the entire class cracked up and all the other kids said, ya, we're Native Americans too. The teacher lost control because he had no answer to that question.
As for me, I'm a Native American.... Even if I don't have a casino license. ;~))
