Execution of woman in Texas postponed, lawyers to argue jury discrimination [Kimberly McCarthy]

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - The execution of Kimberly McCarthy was postponed by a Texas judge on Tuesday, the day she was to die, to give her lawyers time to argue that racial discrimination played a role in choosing the jury that convicted her.

It was rescheduled for April 3 and, if carried out, McCarthy will be the first woman to be put to death in the United States in nearly three years.

This is the charming lady who called her 71-year-old neighbor up and asked if she could borrow a cup of sugar. When the neighbor went to get the sugar, she stabbed her with a 10-inch butcher knife and beat her into submission with a candlestick.

Then, while the neighbor was still alive, Ms. McCarthy put the lady's finger on a chopping block and sawed it off in order to steal her neighbor's diamond ring. After that she returned to the beating and stabbing to finish the job off.

So then she stole the lady's Mercedes, pawned the ring for $200, and went to buy some crack.

Things took sort of a bad turn for Ms. McCarthy during the sentencing phase when it was revealed that she had been very closely linked (as in, like, DNA) to two extremely similar previous murders of women in their 80s.

Oh. One other interesting thing. Ms. McCarthy is an ex-wife of the founder of the New Black Panther Party.

This is outrageous she should be put down. To think this monster was convicted soley because she is some victim of racism is disgusting. The lady is a flipping murderer

Try telling a black person that they are mistreating you because you're white.

Well, she was unfortunately convicted by a jury with only one nonwhite juror.

If the area is 22.5% black, that argues for a jury with three black people on it.

The thing is, given the monolithic way in which most black people seem to vote, I honestly wonder how many black people would acquit someone they believed was guilty, simply on the basis of the color of the person’s skin.

Her lawyers are right.. A black jury would never find her guilty of murdering a white woman.. Besides, all they have is her DNA at the scene and two other murder scenes. /s
