If you’re like AWD, you’ve been perusing stores looking for ammo. It’s very difficult to find these days. And, if you can find it, it has astronomical prices. It seems Americans are buying up anything and everything gun related fearing Obama and his big-government statist friend’s aims to destroy the Second Amendment.
Ammo isn’t the only thing flying off the shelves. Go to a Cabelas or any other gun store and you’re likely to see empty shelves and crowded counters. Obama is the greatest gun salesman in the history of the world. There is nothing to be found! In Texas, most people have guns. Well, arsenals. But it seems that a lot of the people buying guns are those who believe in the Second Amendment but have never owned guns. And they’re buying everything…anything…that goes boom. Ammo included!
About three weeks before the school shooting in Sandy Hook, AWD purchased 10 Magpul 30-round .223 magazines (not clips, dammit) for $100 online. A friend told me he saw the exact magazines at a gun show this past weekend selling for $79 apiece! Guns, ammunition and magazines have become the greatest investment since Google or Apple in the 90′s. Except those stock certificates won’t protect you from the violent thugs who will come your way with bad intentions in an economic collapse.
As much as I hate the difficulty in finding ammo at a reasonable price, AWD sees this as a great sign! It proves that Americans are not going to easily give up our 2nd Amendment rights. It also shows that Americans are preparing for the Obama apocalypse. More and more of us are seeing America going to a place we never dreamed. A place where the nation is insolvent, the dollar collapses, and anarchy ensues. If that occurs, look for the federal government to try to exercise total control over us.
Certainly, when the first welfare checks and food stamps don’t arrive, most American inner cities will be looted and burn. OK, no surprise there. It almost occurs every weekend in those cities. But what happens when those inner city “yoots” have stolen and looted everything they can steal in their parts? They will certainly move to the outer suburbs to pursue new loot and victims. In blue states where gun ownership is difficult, law-abiding citizens must be getting nervous. As they should be. What will they do? Throw rocks at the raging hordes of violent moochers coming to kill them and steal their belongings?
In red states, we are well-prepared to protect our communities. And you better believe we will put down any threat to our homes and families. We are armed to the teeth and have ammo up the wazoo. Well, you can never have enough ammo. But we are prepared to do what we must. And we will.
Over the past year or so, AWD began buying bricks of .22 LR ammo. It was cheap and readily available. Never did I believe it may be the new gold standard. Now it cannot be found! Even in my beloved Lone Star state.
It is almost impossible to find .223, .40, .45, .357 ammo. It’s also difficult to find standard rifle ammo. We don’t know what Obama and the statist’s exact plans are but we know they want to separate Americans from our guns and ammo. That is the only way they can exercise total control over us. We will not allow that to happen.
Over the past few days, we have witnessed black choppers with military personnel doing ops over Miami and Houston. We have seen DHS purchasing millions of rounds of ammo. We have seen DHS purchasing an additional 7,000 of the hated “assault rifles” they don’t want American citizens to own. We have heard reports of DHS pre-positioning ammo drops and armored vehicles across the country. What are they preparing for? Are they preparing to contain the inner city welfare-moochers when the dollar collapses? Or are they preparing to try to control the American populace?
The billion dollar question remains whether the US military would fire on our own law-abiding citiens? Obama is busy destroying the military but DHS seems to be growing in numbers and armaments. Certainly, they are preparing for something. The empty ammo shelves and gun counters suggest the American patriots are preparing, too.
If and when the dollar collapses, will ammo become the main tool of barter? Gold bars won’t protect your family. The American people are voting with guns and ammo purchases. We don’t trust our government. And with Obama’s second term beginning, we are preparing for the worst.
AWD is glad he purchased a lot of .22 ammo when the getting was good. I only wish I had purchased a whole lot more.

You are not kidding about .22LR being sold out. It is sold out everywhere. And if you find it the price is jacked.

I had to fly back to Ohio the next day, so it didn’t help me any, but if you’re near that Gander, then that place is full of ammo.

Many Americans are not stupid. They can connect dots and see the trajectory this administration and their running lackeys are on, so of course they are buying every gun and round of ammo in sight.
I was just on the web site of the largest eRetailer of reloading supplies in the country. For the caliber of brass that I was looking for, every single entry was flagged: out of stock, no backorder.

So many people talk about the tangible possibility of having to resist to the point of arms. For these people, America as they knew it growing up has passed and the Constitution is close to being done away with. The current crowd in power is fixated, Gollum-like on their Precious, the banning private ownership of firearms as a means to further ends of totalitarian control.
At what point will this danger be sufficient to more of a threat to our rights and liberties than any thing a Constitutional Convention might pass and the surviving States would ratify?
Please tell me how this could be worse in, say 5 years, than what America will probably be like at the end of the current regime?
I raise this question and most responses will say no- we would rather prepare to give up our guns bullets first. This is foolish! The first thing that the gun-grabbers want is for some FBI or ATF agent to die in a firefight with a person waiving a Gadsden Flag and firing AR. This will just justify their tyranny.
There are peaceful options that remain unexplored. If you want to get the libs excited, talk up how a Constitutional Convention will revoke the federal powers they love to use, such as infinite money-printing, perpetual debt, an open-ended welfare state and undeclared war. This will hit them where it hurts, ideologically. It will be sweet revenge for their decades of rampant abuse. And if we pursue this, we won’t have any unnecessary blood on our hands. All those bureaucrats can return to useful employment, and the ATF agents and TSA screeners can return to their former jobs as janitors and parking lot attendants.
The Walmart I use has had NO .22 cal. except rat shot for the last two weeks. I did get a few boxes of 30/06, 12 ga 00 buck and rifled slugs and their last box of .357.

I bought a Marlin XT-22 recently, a bolt action .22. Anyone have any experience with what it shoots best?
I’m thinking CCI or Federal. A little cold out for me, but always a good time to buy. I’ll check back.
