KinderGarden Of Eden: How the Modern Liberal Thinks
FrontPage ^ | January 28, 2013 | Jamie Glazov

Prior to 9-11, I was your typical New York City-born, Liberal Jew. My Liberalism wasn’t a thoughtful embrace of Left-wing ideology – in fact, very, very few people thoughtfully embrace this ideology. It was more like what Andrew Breitbart called “The default factory setting” for people born into the time, place and culture into which I was born.

Back then I knew what all Modern Liberals know: Democrats are good and Republicans are evil; Democrats like peace and Republicans like war; Democrats like air and Republicans don’t breathe the air or something. I don’t know. This is why David Mamet calls them “brain-dead” Liberals, because there was no intellect behind my Liberalism, it just was.

But even as brain-dead Liberal, 9-11 didn’t surprise me. Of course I didn’t know the date, and I didn’t know the targets and the carnage literally sickened me, but I knew just enough about the world to know that the same people who were massacring the Jews of Israel and people of other religions and cultures around the globe because they were the closest infidels would, when they could, come to massacre the biggest infidels – their so-called “Great Satan.” What surprised me – and ultimately rocked my world – is what I metaphorically call “9-12.” That’s the days and the weeks and the months and now the years after 9-11 and the Liberals’ response to the attacks. The idea that we deserved the attacks – that they were, in the words of Barack Obama’s “spiritual mentor,” Jeremiah Wright, “The chickens coming home to roost” – and that the way to prevent further attacks was to be nicer to the terrorists seemed to me to be nothing short of insane.

The old saying is ever true:
A liberal is a conservative who hasn't been mugged yet.

Another turism:
"Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains."
-- Winston Churchill

When the economy finally collapses, I wonder if we will end up with more "mugged" liberals.

Lberals THINK?! Who knew? You certainly can’t ascertain that from anything that they say...

Right, but if you are old enough to work and you DO work, you get mugged every April 15!

Yeah.

Except, "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart" is erroneous in most cases.

You've just got a man that has more brains than average, doesn't take as long to learn things, and can learn from the experiences of other people, and not have to be mugged firsthand to get the point.

In every case the Modern Liberal, in order to remain indiscriminate, must discriminate against the good, right and successful.

What?

I understood that perfectly.

In order for evil to not be discriminated against,
you must treat the good as evil.

What he's saying in effect is that in the Modern Liberal's quest not to discriminate between good and evil, in fact he has made a choice that favors the evil, by refusing to counter it.

Sayet: "Hatred for Judeo-Christian America and the Jews of Israel is nothing less than endemic to Modern Liberalism. Assuming one doesn’t deny that America is exceptionally strong and exceptionally prosperous, how is this to be explained? There are only two possible explanations, either there is something exceptional about America’s culture that leads to this success or there isn’t anything special about America’s culture and therefore not only is this success unjust (why should America be prosperous and strong if she’s nothing special) but, given that America is the strongest and most prosperous nation in human history, the Modern Liberal has no choice but to believe America is the greatest injustice in all of human history."

And this, boys and girls, is the most perfect description of o'bummer's thought process that I've ever seen in all my days.!!

Liberals don't bother to listen, so sure they are of their "high-minded" thoughts and beliefs. Argue (or "discuss") today's problems with a liberal and, as soon as you make a valid point they cannot answer, they will throw up a strawman argument (one of their favorites), or just plain change the subject.

They will say "most studies show...", without referencing exactly what "studies", but when you do that, they want you to immediately point out these "studies" or they accuse you of making it all up, that you listen too much to Fox News, etc.

Liberals can hold two completely incongruent ideas in their heads, and believe both of them to be true (example: what they say: free speech, what you say: hate speech). Liberalism is a mental disease.

A liberal is a person too broad-minded to take their own side in an argument.

What you’ll notice about the industries that dominate today’s Democratic Party is that the one thing they have in common is that they don’t make or produce anything tangible. The entirety of both their product and their effort is nothing other than words. Because they don’t do anything or make anything, there is no reason for them to seek out the better ways of doing things and making things. The coin-of-the-realm to those in the Rhetoric Industries is to be clever; there is simply no need for them to be right.
Notice, Dear Reader, that the one “industry” (can it legitimately be called an “industry" when its defining characteristic is that it does not make anything?) that suits the above description best is journalism. And note that the above doesn’t say, “industries dominated by" the Democratic Party but the opposite - industries that dominate" today’s Democratic Party. When people condemn “the media” for “being in the pocket of” the Democratic Party, they have IMHO got the causation backward. Journalism supports the Democratic Party because the Democratic Party goes along with journalism. The Republican Party envies the Democrats that advantage, but it cannot get to the left of the Democratic Party, so journalism heaps contempt on it for attracting people who believe in things like facts and logic.
. . . When all you do is talk you don’t need to know what you’re talking about because, when you don’t do anything, nothing can go wrong. This allows those who have gone from the paradise of childhood directly into careers in the Rhetoric Industries to spend their entire lives not knowing anything more than the small child save for possessing a bigger vocabulary.

This would explain how liberals can be completely against the death penalty for even the most heinous criminals, but don’t even think twice about exterminating an innocent unborn baby.

Rush Limbaugh’s stock in trade is words and ideas. Intellectual property is just as much a creator of wealth as anything else man cares to take of this life and fashion into an asset - if we allow it.

I have paid for, and benefited from, many things produced by liberals, particularly as pertains to music and the arts. Can’t say as much for the prevaricating sonofabitch who currently occupies the highest office of the land.

Moderrn so called-journalsim sells and holds power because people are gullible, lazy, and anxious to hear evil about their neighbors, and because they envy the power, both real and imagined, of garnering a wide audience. Let’s not kid ourselves. We’re all out to be gods of one kind or another.

Very interesting piece. The idea that liberalism is closely related to immaturity is worth pursuing further — I think it nicely explains why liberalism has emerged so abruptly in public life after Reagan. The baby boomers (and I am one of them) came into their own and brought their ethic with them.
