Police in Mesa, Ariz., reported finding a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound who matches the description of a suspect in a Phoenix shooting.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said a person matching the description of the suspect, 70-year-old Arthur Douglas Harmon, was found Thursday with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, KTVK-TV, Phoenix, reported.

"Mesa Police have informed us they have located the suspect vehicle involved in yesterday's [Wednesday's] incident," Martos said in an email distributed to media outlets Thursday. "In addition, they have located an individual matching the suspect description nearby with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Harmon hasn't been seen since he fled the area of the law office shooting, where one person died and two others were injured, soon after it occurred Wednesday, police said.

Police dispatchers Thursday kept broadcasting the description of Harmon's rental vehicle, a white 2013 Kia Optima with Arizona plates, The Arizona Republic in Phoenix reported.

Harmon was reported in a legal battle with a telephone call center. Phoenix Police said they think Harmon targeted two men and shot another person after a mediation session at building in north-central Phoenix.

Killed was Steve Singer, 48, the call center's executive office and a defendant in the lawsuit filed by Harmon. Singer's attorney, Mark Hummels, sustained serious wounds to his neck and back. Bystander Nicole Hampton was shot near the building entrance, suffering a hand wound.

On Thursday, a citizen reported seeing the car in a parking lot and reported it to police, KNXV-TV, Phoenix, said.

If this was Newtown CT, the coroner already would have had a press conference announcing what calibur bullet he was shot with. Right now, here in Arizona, we can’t even tell if the guy is dead. Geeesh!

I gather from another story that the shooter was offered $47k and paid $30k to refurbish cubicles at two call centers in California. But then they asked for the $30k back when they discovered that the cubicles would not be acceptable when refurbished.

Then that company demanded that he remove and store 206 “worthless” work stations he had refurbished, then they told him they intended to get the work done by a competitor of his.

Though it is was not clearly described in the story, they also accused the shooter of fraudulently transferring the title of his house. This implies that he had used the $30k for the job, and when he couldn’t return it, they threatened to take his house.

So he shot the owner of the company and the attorney trying to take his house.

The local RAG poorly written article said “Phoenix Greg Stanton” was in Mesa at the scene. Since I live here, I know he’s mayor of Phoenix, but why does he feel the need to show his face at an active investigation site in Mesa? (rhetorical, i know, he’s a lib mayor who’s looking for high office)

He was litigious:

Another area lawyer, David Panzarella, dealt with Harmon in a 2008 case. Harmon was litigious and had been involved in nearly a dozen prior civil suits, he told Fox 10 News.

“He represented himself and he was a particularly unpleasant man, not only lawyers and staff in our office will remember his name for years,” said Panzarella. “When his name came up today we certainly recognized it.”

Well, it is perhaps better than one from the other day where “the man was found dead with two non-fatal wounds to the head”.
