We have a Barred Owl hanging around here in the middle of suburbia. Pretty cool when he flies at dusk, it’s big.
Hey just gotta called a few minutes ago and the paperwork on the 5.7 is in. Only took 23 days.
They can have up to a 6-7ft wingspan; we have a pair on the Farm who’ve taken over the old vehicle storage bldg. I’m not going back in without full metal armor. They’re also very territorial and will attack if they’ve got a brood in the nest.
23 days? I remember “way back when” they used to have ‘em in stock, in the display case. LOL. Those days are over, now. All my FFL gets-in are pre-paid 5.7s & AR-57s; no up-for-grabs units available anymore. Hard to find, like a bucket of deep-fried “chicken lips”.
Barred Owl? Wow. I thought that was a typo for Barn Owl.

I’ve never seen one of them, in the wild. Beautiful bird. Biggest one I ever saw was a Great Gray Owl; looked like a B52 overhead.
