Maybe he meant ‘modern Republican’.
As an aside, where are all of the moderate Democrats? Maybe there aren’t any.
They morphed into Republicans for the most part and the remainder just faded away. Zell Miller was probably one of the last, though I believe he was a Conservative Democrat.
