Bob Menendez ducks out of NJ Chamber of Commerce event, ditches reporters at elevator

Posted By David Martosko On 9:11 AM 02/01/2013 @ 9:11 AM

Bob Menendez, the combative New Jersey senator beset by allegations that he had sex with at least one underage prostitute in the Dominican Republic, hurried out of a Marriott ballroom in Washington, D.C. after a speech Thursday night, out-dashing a gaggle of reporters and ignoring questions all the way to a welcome elevator.

The senator was speaking to an annual gathering of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, but members of the media weren’t interested in the value of pharmaceutical stocks or the future of the chemical industry.

“Sen Menendez walks away in silence as reporters fire questions about allegations,” Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jonathan Tamari tweeted shortly after 9:30 p.m. “Ducks into elevator, and he’s gone.”

The Inquirer’s Joelle Farrell followed up a few minutes later on Twitter, writing that she found it “[k]ind of surreal to hear  @GingerGibson yell ‘Did you sleep with prostitutes, Senator?’ at Menendez while we practically ran down [the] hall.”

Gibson is a reporter with Politico, a left-leaning news outlet.

As recently as Monday, Menendez’s office was calling the allegations against him the product of a right-wing smear job. But when the non-right-wing Miami Herald reported Tuesday night that the FBI had raided the business of Menendez’s campaign donor and alleged Dominican sex-party collaborator Salomon Melgen, Menendez-gate became a post-partisan media circus.

Writing for Politico, Gibson reported late Thursday night that Menendez “did not respond to a flurry of questions as a crowd of reporters – many from his home state – followed him out of the speech.”

“A grim-faced Sen. Robert Menendez scurried out of the ballroom,” the Asbury Park Press told its readers.

“For Menendez,” Tamari wrote for the Inquirer, “it might have been a chance to shine in the spotlight of a rising profile, including a key role in immigration reform and chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which Democrats gave him Tuesday.”

“Instead, allegations swirled around him, and his office confirmed that he took more than two years to repay a donor and friend for 2010 flights on a private plane.

That donor, South Florida eye surgeon Salomon Melgen, is now under federal investigation.” (RELATED: Menendez drained more than 1/3 of bank accounts in January to pay for past Dominican Republic travel)

“The Senator,” reported Buzzfeed, “was, in fact, all but mum on the accusations, from the moment he entered the Marriott to the moment he ducked out, chased all the while by a bevy of reporters before scrambling into an elevator that took him and an entourage to the basement of the hotel.”

Inquirer reporter Matt Katz summed it up in a caption to a tweeted photo: “Hands clasped; no words.”

Two hours earlier, according to a tweet from CNN’s Jim Acosta, an arriving Menendez told CNN assignment editor Gregory Clary that “These are nameless, faceless allegations.”

“You should find out who that is,” the senator added, according to Buzzfeed.

The Daily Caller was first to report on the prostitution allegations, on Nov. 1, 2012. That report featured two Dominican women who made specific claims, during videotaped interviews, that they were paid for sex with Menendez during the Easter weekend that year. TheDC withheld their names and obscured their faces to guarantee their anonymity.

True dat. But with a determined PR campaign associating his actions with pedobear, the lie will never get through to the laughing masses.

Alynski works both ways. And even most libs won’t YET accept pedos.

Yet.

Also explains the rush to amnesty---and the RINO cave-in to amnesty.

Looks to me like these South American hellholes are colluding in a massive conspiracy to get their pressure groups amnestized---as zillions in foreign aid dance in their tabasco-soaked heads. Reconquista is also part of the conspiracy.

The Third World conspirators got the goods on priapic US pols....."vote our way---or else."

Explains a lot of "How the hell could they vote for this" to me.
Have always suspected money or sex and then blackmail, now we have a path and clues to look at, if any dare look.

What is it with these sleeze balls? As soon as they hit DC, they become over-aged frat boys and lose all control.

We desperately need term limits.

I have long believed that most of the GOP/Dem machine was gay or had some serious blackmailable issues and that led to many of the unexplainable caveing we see. So it’s not hard to imagine that pedo behavior would be a serious problem in Washingtom.

MANY leaders on history’s stage have luved them some young guys. It sure didn’t end in Rome/Greece.

Man, if I were falsely accused of going on sex-cations to a third world country to sleep with underage hookers I’d be screaming my innocence from rooftops.

Menendez is in one heckuva Sex Mess.

BACKTORY In December 2012, the AP reported Menendez had an illegal Peruvian immigrant and registered sex offender ---- Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, Newark---- working as a volunteer in his office.

AP reported that Homeland Security told federal agents not to arrest the illegal until after Election Day b/c Menendez was running for reelection and there would be intense media and voter interest in the sexual predator story.

SURPRISE The Obama administration denied the AP report but it later turned out the government was lying, the AP was right. Menendez is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Law-abiding Americans must demand answers to these penetrating questions.

(1) Why are illegals/lawbreakers like this predator being given the protection of: (a) the federal govt, (b) the Obama Admin, (c) the DOJ, (d) the US Congress, (e) other govt officials/workers/agencies and institutions?

(2) Are Obama and the Congress acting on orders from foreign governments?

(3) Why was an illegal lawbreaker (a registered sex offender) given a job in US Senator Menendez's office ---- and is now being offered more protections and rights than law-abiding Americans?

(4) What are the penalties imposed on US and state govt officials for using tax-paid govt offices, govt resources, and govt authority, to aid and abet wrongdoing---and why are they not being mobilized?

MENENDEZ'S UTTER CONTEMPT FOR AMERICA AND THE RULE OF LAW IS AN OUTRAGE---When caught w/ an illegal registered sex offender employed in his Senate office--- Menendez obfuscated----and whined: "It speaks volumes about the need for immigration reform."

So we can conclude the Peruvian illegal--- Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, Newark, NJ--- told the whining Menendez, "Heck. they won't make me a citizen so I'll go out and sexually abuse somebody. "

Oh goody----Senor Menendez, the predator's mentor, will make sure sexual predators are included in "comprehensive immigration reform."

FBI TIPS PAGE https://tips.fbi.gov/

Menendez sure ain't gonna tell----so we need to demand to know how much damage Menendez allowed this illegal predator to do to our govt---for example:

(1) how many financial bombs Luis Abraham Sanchez Zavaleta, Newark, planted in federal budgets-----which jetstream federal money to him and his relatives in perpetuity. (2) How many identities Luis Abraham Sanchez Zavaleta, has. (3) How many govt checks is Zavaleta--and his extended family--- cashing.

Sen Menendez says he" never knew" he was mentoring a sexual predator when Luis Abraham Sanchez Zavaleta, Newark, worked as a volunteer. Could be-----Menendez meets only criminals and ne'er do wells in Hudson County. Heck, the US State Dept once stopped taking passports from HC Clerk's office---b/c they were all fraudulent. Then-Gov Corzine appointed the HC latino clerk forging passports to a high post in his admin.

JUST A COINCIDENCE? Candidate Jon Corzine had a "Peruvian Pac" supporting his losing reelection. Looks like Peruvian predator Luis Abraham Sanchez Zavaleta, Newark, is well-connected in Democrat circles.

HERE'S A NICE SUGGESTION All of the paperwork Menendez filed with Senate offices to actuate the Peruvian's position should be rigorously examined. Filing falsified govt documents is a felony---forgery could also be involved.

The Senator billed the Peruvian predator as a "volunteer." So how does he support himself? Who pays his rent? Who buys his meals? Who pays his carfare to and from the Senator's office? Did Menendez ask the Peruvian volunteer how many identities he has---and whether he knows of---or ever did "business" with----these guys?

NJ BERGEN RECORD---Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity (many latinos establish multiple identities in order to ride the US gravy train). The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said NJ state police.

The Texas brothers turned a north NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout.

After a search, police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs. v

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

Liz, in order for anything of substance to happen...IMO...it will have to get SO BAD that people will be ashamed NOT to speak up. Because until it does, the cowards known as modern Americans will just keep making excuses and justifications for their inaction.

For every one of us that even goes as far as to comment on a thread like this, there are literally a million that don’t see a problem because...hu...well, because!

And that’s another reason we are in the mess we are. Untile principle matters again to most people, we’ll get more of this crap.

Didn’t John Edwards hide in a bathroom when the National Enquirer caught up with him. Child molesters like Menendez need to brush up on their E&E (escape and Evasion).
