Ahmadinejad Unveils New Iranian-Made Fighter Jet

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has unveiled the country's newest fighter jet, which officials claim can evade radar.

Ahmadinejad said at a Saturday ceremony broadcast on state TV that Qaher-313, or Dominant-313, showed Iran's will to "capture peaks."

Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi says Qaher is "fully indigenous," designed and built by Iranian aerospace experts. The domestically designed and developed Qaher-313 is similar to the US-built F/A-18, the report said.

Photos released by the official IRNA news agency shows Qaher as a single-seat jet, described as a fighter-bomber that can combat both other aircraft and ground targets.

I agree. This is BS.. I can see the painted fabric/plastic/mylar sheeting over structure.. Canopy is barely worthy of seeing through with major distortions.. This is trickery aimed at intimidating Israel.. If this IS real, Chinese, Russian, Islamic hackers are quite busy. But that’s probably not necessary with 0bama’s agencies FULL of spies with their boss in the White House.

"It looks like a cheap prop made with plywood, elmers, and krylon semi gloss"

Ding-Ding-Ding...WE HAVE A WINNER..!!

I agree...An aircraft shape like that thing would need a ton of avionics computers to keep it in the air...It looks completely empty behind the seat.!!

Not that I know what the heck I'm talking about, but the thing looks more like a model to me...

Some years ago I saw a home built craft that had the rear wings much longer then the front ones...It kinda looked like the thing was flying backwards...It had a stall speed of something like 28mph....I don't remember the name of the craft...

It is not just amazing what one can do with an old F-5 and fiberglass? The Pep Boys flat black finish is equally impressive.

If this thing actually flies, I'm buying every worthy oriental gentleman in the pix a Bushmills. BTW, I think I saw this very plane on that historic History Channel episode, "NAZI Wunderwaffen of 1987."

No chance this thing is for real. Love the RV canopy, especially the way it almost fits the cockpit. Nice try, though, and a perfect photo-op for the MSM to take a break from covering gun crimes committed by deranged teens with automatic revolvers.

Someone call Popular Mechanics or Boy's Life right away. Perfect article title: "How to turn a derelict F-5 into a Super-Stealthy Lawn Ornament with these common hobby materials!"

The aircraft shown in the flight pictures bears only a slight resemblence to the aircraft shown in the still photos. Much larger rear wing/main wing for one thing. There’s no way to tell if the flying airplane is full size or a model.

Would the plane in the still pictures fly? You can get a brick to fly, if you put enough power behind it.

I’m very confident saying that this is a prop made out of plywood, sheet metal and plastic.................................... It looks more like lacquer sprayed on canvass to me. If an F 18 flew by it, it would cause this plane to burst apart. Lets see if it makes it to the Air Show in England. If they are thinking of flying over Israel, they better have a damn good supply of pilots.

Then again, what kind of plane is required for a suicide mission? It only needs to take off and crash into something.

This whole article is really pathetic. The "features page looks like it was written by a 13-yr-old Jr high school kid, and they couldn't even find the bright one of the class, copying ideas from 60s comic books. take a look.
