Jones Pick as ATF Chief is in Deeper Trouble
Star Tribune ^ | February 2, 2013 | B Todd Jones

WASHINGTON - A group of powerful Republicans in Congress is openly challenging B. Todd Jones' leadership of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) as the Senate takes up President Obama's nomination to make the Minnesota lawyer the agency's permanent director.

A congressional letter that was signed by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and three leading House Republicans spells deepening trouble for Jones' nomination at a time when Republicans are aggressively challenging a number of Obama's second-term appointments.

As the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Grassley is in a position to slow or even block Jones' nomination indefinitely, despite Democratic control of the Senate.

The letter to Jones, who also is the U.S. attorney for Minnesota, cites failures in a recent sting operation in Milwaukee that raise doubts about Jones' supervision as acting director. It adds to a chorus of GOP criticism over the administration's handling of the controversial ATF "Fast and Furious" gun tracking operation on the Mexican border, which Jones was brought in to clean up.

Earlier this week, Donald Oswald, a former Minneapolis FBI director and self-described Democrat, wrote to alert the Senate Judiciary Committee to Jones' "atrocious professional reputation within the federal law enforcement community."

Grassley has already threatened to hold up Jones' nomination in a separate dispute involving the Justice Department and the city of St. Paul's decision to drop a housing discrimination case that had been headed for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Does anyone really believe that the choices the President makes for cabinet posts, or other high government positions are based on merit, or even merely just on race? Wake Up! From Geithner to Clinton to Kerry to Holder to Biden to Napolitano to Hagel to B. Todd Jones all the way down the list, you will not find a competent degenerate among them.

Geithner, a tax cheat, Kerry who openly lied about his war record, the others are woman or blacks, not to say there are no competent women or blacks but in this case, they're not all at all appropriate for their jobs.

To the contrary, the First Comrade's choices are deliberately nominated for their abject incompetence and inadequacy designed to place the worst candidate available in direct inverse polar opposite relationship to the job they've been chosen for, to wreak as much havoc and mismanagement as possible, as part of his design to destroy America, leave it irreparably worse off when first slithering out of thee slums of Chicago.

The personnel pool from which the staff that runs the White House is derived seems to be ruled by the Peter Principle, organization's members will eventually be promoted beyond their level of ability. The principle is commonly phrased, "Employees tend to rise to their level of incompetence, which includes the most incontrovertible incompetent ever, the (COE) Community Organizer Extraordinaire, The First Comrade, who by dint of his utter bottom-dwelling incompetence very much proves the validity of the Peter Principle by having risen to the very top for a second term.

Jones is INCOMPETENT!

He sent a letter to the entire ATF staff threatening them if they should buck the culture, or not use the “chain of command”!

When the boss is the problem, the “chain of command”, is NOT the solution!

You are correct, and despite articles like this that claim these thugs' appointment is "in trouble" it is amazing how quickly the RINOs in the senate roll over and play dead. That's how we got a traitor as Sec of State and soon we'll have an anti Semite moron as Sec of Defense.

It is a mistake to think Obama, or even his handlers, seeks out incompetent folks. The problem begins at the top ~ this guy simply doesn't have the capacity to judge whether or not someone is capable of doing a job or providing leadership.

The consequence is the Obama regime REPELS men and women of talent and experience. They don't apply for these jobs, and if offered them, they fail to follow up with a resume.

Gross stupidity is unfortunately difficult to tell from conscious sabotage.

Kerry the traitor is Secretary of State. That’s better than having him in the Senate. BTW, the smart guys in the foreign countries have his number. They’ll break him by May.

Part of the Democrat personnel problem arises out of the way the party is organized. As just about anyone can see with 10 minutes study of a rough sample of Democrat party literature the party's primary organizational unit is THE SPECIAL INTEREST. They also operate under the delusion that EVERY corporation or other organized body in America ~ or the world ~ is made up of Special Interests.

These special interests focus on various 'interests' ~ e.g. drugs, law enforcement, trial lawyers and tort claims, school teachers, blacks per se, hispanics per se, labor intensive agriculture, national chamber of commerce, Massachusetts, teaching hospitals, Jewish people in NYC and nearby CT, Microsoft, Hollywood, ASCAP, UAW, SIEU, marijuana growers association, and so forth. I think you could come up with almost all the more serious special interests in 10 minutes.

When it comes time to hire White House staffers every major special interest gets at least one job to fill. Some get more than that of course, but he's got about 1200 appointees to make, so we are speaking first of the Schedule Cs who do everything outside of policy work. When it comes to the policy positions a Democrat President must first check out the Harvard faculty, the US Senate and the House of Representatives.

Currently all the Democrat oriented special interests are distracted by the Great Obama Recession and the efforts made by the Republican party at the state levels to kick their butts out of state government sinicures. Consequently none of them are giving Obama any of their better people. He's stuck with the dregs ~ and he doesn't know any better.

I completely agree with your post. Obam has an intentional plan to destroy the stable system of governance and substitute his own diktat regime. He canno purge everyone, so he will allow the various government bureaus to implode.

One other aspect of this cycle of Obama fascism, and that is that his appointees for cabinet posts are simply place holders. Their job is to allow Obama to run the portfolios directly out of the White House, circumventing established, usually effective , functional government hierarchy.Obama wants the portfolio to follow his dictates excactly, and if there is a disaster or treason that becomes public, such as Bengazi, then the place holder, as Hillery Clinton was, says mea culpa, falls on their sword and protect the president by not revealing the truth.

This is what Hagel, Kerry , and Brennon have as purpose, to be used, and then discarded. They will not be active in conducting any policy. Its the president who will be actively treasonous, under the guise of some kind of “progress.”

Its just sijmply impeachable conduct. Obama should be impeached, or........ ( I cannot write the alternative without getting censored, but you catch my drift.)

Christina Romer Knows Tax Hikes Will Kill the Recovery
http://www.forbes.com/sites/charleskadlec/2012/04/23/christina-romer-knows-tax-hikes-will-kill-the-recovery/

In a paper entitled: “The Macrcoeconomic Effects of Tax Changes” published by the prestigious American Economic Review in June 2010 (during her tenure at the White House), she stated: “In short, tax increases appear to have a very large, sustained, and highly significant negative impact on output.”

...The Romers’ baseline estimate suggests that a tax increase of 1% of GDP (about $160 billion in today’s economy) reduces real GDP by 3% over the next 10 quarters.
