Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow; my father was too, and he was also a scoutmaster. I worked six summers on the staff of a large scout camp complex when young, and I saw firsthand, and repeatedly, the traumatic pederasty that homosexual predators perpetrated upon innocent boys and young men. As a mental health professional now for a quarter century, I see the lasting aftermath of such abuses as well.

I wrote to these spineless clowns at the BSA the other day and told them so, although I am not so naive as to think it will have an impact on their decision. People drawn to positions of power within such organizations are, as we have seen repeatedly, highly susceptible to the tactics used in The Long March Through the Institutions pushed by the Marxists who seek to undermine this nation.

The simple, and yet complete, answer, BTW, for anyone wondering why homosexuals would be motivated to become adult or older peer leaders in the Scouts - besides the general Leftist wish to corrupt every last bastion of previously conservative cultural authority - is summed up in Willie Sutton’s famous reason for robbing banks, or in the simple concept of a “target-rich environment”. It’s never any more complicated than that.

I mentioned I was Eagle Scout, class of ‘68, but your message reminded me, I was also Brotherhood Order of the Arrow, senior patrol leader for troop 33, Yokosuka Naval Base Japan, and founding member of the first troop, on the naval base, of what was then called Explorers, now called Venturers.

There are only two ways this will end, neither of them good: the BSA will become a shill for postmodern relativism, and the organization will become increasingly irrelevant, shrinking in membership just as similar organizations have (cf. “liberal Christian” denominations).

Just wow. One of the best lines I've read which captures it all. The folks in this country under 50 years old just don't get it. Membership in BSA has been on a negative slope since 1970 - same for U.S. church attendance.

#27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

#29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

#30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

#32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

#40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

#41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
