NEW YORK (AP) A gun control group founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing a Super Bowl advertisement calling for background checks.
The 30-second spot by Mayors Against Illegal Guns will air in the Washington area during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.

Inasmuch as billionaire Bloomberg and his pals only saw fit to buy one small but strategic market (Washington D.C.), and you list yourself as NY state, I would say you are correct.
Who does their advertising research, yeah gun control advertisement is going to go over well with the football crowd
Would love to see the national ad the NRA is putting out. Maybe combine it with the Go Daddy ad.
My thoughts exactly.
The NRA must respond and they are also in O’s crosshairs.
NRA is fighting not only for gun rights but also their very existence. I like the self-interest motive a lot. Thanks O
With all the talk about background checks from the Gun Grabber crowd, I started thinking about what defines an “UNSTABLE” person. Can it not be said that All persons required BY LAW to take an OATH to Uphold or preserve or defend the LAW or the Constitution of the US or of ANY STATE, that “Wilfully, knowingly and intentionally” makes a “Deliberate False Statement”ie LIES, is by definition UNSTABLE?? after all they did make a conscious choice to VIOLATE THEIR OATH, And what about when they LIE in an Effort to Strip We the People of our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS protected by the Constitution?? Should they be DENIED the RIGHT to Use, Own or Possess ANY FIREARM?? I think so, they are by definition UNTRUSTWORTHY.
They are just wasting their money. Might as well run Chevy volt ads during NASCAR races.
“They are just wasting their money”....
And you’re sure it is THEIR money and not taxpayers?
Good point, and one I hadn't thought about. I figured the Mayors Association was funded by the mayors, but it may well be funded by the taxpayer. And, if it is funded by the taxpayer, then it's offensive that the taxpayer is paying to be propagandized to give up an inherent right.
I’m going over to some Lib friends’ house for the game. Will be interesting to see how they react. They have not specified any desire for their home to be gun-free and I don’t intend to let them know that I’m carrying.

Geeez...sounds like you and your ‘friend’ have a lovely, honest, open relationship with such mutual respect.........
Yep - I'm as honest with them about things that aren't their concern as they are with their tax returns. I should probably qualify - my wife like the woman and I have not much in common with the man. Other true friends are also going to be there and my wife wants to do a little socializing. I can abide by them but do not really consider them to be good friends.
