The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stands Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the “biggest donors in the Republican Party” have joined forces with Karl Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, to create the Conservative Victory Project. The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to “recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s effort to win control of the Senate.” The group points to candidates like Christine O’Donnell in Delaware and Richard Mourdock in Indiana as examples of Tea Party primary picks going sideways in major Senatorial battles.

I have never thought that Rove was anything more than a little girl.

On the other side, opposing their goals of socialism, communism, disarmament and domestic tyranny, are American citizens and the Tea Party.
We've known this since about 2000, or before, but I am delighted that they have announced it publicly.

Exactly. The Republicans, as a party, need to be dumped and go the way of the Whigs.
They have no coherent philosophy and no reason for being except to raise enough money on trivial, phony issues to keep enough of their members in office to continue the gravy train. Let Rove lead the “Republican Party” wherever he wants, but let conservative Americans form a new party and go somewhere else.
Some will say, “OH NO! That will let the Dims win!” But of course, that is how Rove and his rent-seeking elite have sucked everyone in. And if I may point out, the Dims have been winning anyway! Rove doesn’t want to win to have a healthy Republic living by the Constitution. Rove wants to win to keep the money rolling in for himself and his elite friends.
OMG people....the GOP is NOT conservative. Never has been. Goldwater was an anomaly and so was Reagan. The Gingrich revolution of 94 was just backlash against Clinton moving “too fast” in his socialization of America.
The Bushes are globalists. All of the leaders in the GOP are globalists. Globalist is another name for world socialist. They believe in a world without borders where all workers are just labor units to be used and discarded at will—essentially a world of temp laborers with an oligarchy that rules them all. Calling them the GOPe and RINOs is incorrect. They are the GOP and the Republicans. We are the outsiders to their party. We’re their plantation voters, just as the blacks are to the Democrats.
Our version of conservatism requires a nation with borders that recognizes that each of us are sovereign individuals with inalienable God-given rights. The GOP does not believe that.
Rove, like the rest of them at the top of both parties, believes in a free market for his class and a “managed economy” for the little people. The only difference between the GOP and the Democrats is in the method of conversion to collectivism. Rove wants us to be sold into indentured servitude to multi-nationals as an expendable resource, with the unemployables becoming wards of the state. Obama wants all of us to become property of the state to be rented out to the corps.
The Whigs actually didn’t go away ~ they became 2 or 3 of the Republican party’s many factions ~ they are still there. A good chunk of them who focus almost exclusively on national financial policies are, in fact, a core group within the TEA Party.
Karl, Carl, either one, he’s still a drippy douche nozzle.

The single member district concept also forces us into two Broad Coalitions ~ one Democrat and the other Republican. That's the way we get enough voters together to win an election ~ which takes 50%+1 vote in a single member district.
There are socialists in both coalitions ~ always have been and always will ~ we need their votes ~ but we want to minimize their influence. BTW, the law does not allow us to mutilate their bodies so don't go there.
They'll all be card carrying members of the Politburo.

If you want to shock these fools, get the agreement of several house members and senators to join a new, “American” party. That wipes out any illusions they have of ever winning back anything and will eventually force them to choose between complete removal of their power or having to join the American party. That will get their attention. I believe Steve King and a few others would be quite willing to join.
It would take about 3-5 years to shift existing Dem and Repub conservatives to the American party. The Repub party would be eliminated within a few months and the Dem party would have to face a serious drain on Dem voters who would be energized by fresh political choices and don’t like the overbearing Dem establishment.
Don’t forget that Americans want freedom, prosperity, and a low-cost government—that is not different no matter who you vote for. A party that advocates those things will be a comfortable fit with the points of view of the vast majority of Americans.
Without conservatives, the Repub party loses so much support that it is not a viable party at the national level. At the state and local levels, conservatism tends to be the core philosophy (with exceptions in a few places like NJ, Mass).
If Karl Rove thinks demographic shifts alone are going to necessitate shifting to a socialist platform, I would like to know just how he thinks he can win any national election without values distinct from the Dem party. He and his party have been losing easy elections for decades. The 2012 election was arguably the best opportunity in decades to win easily and win big—but he and his team lost. Just what is his strategy for winning? Does he really think he can morph the Repub party into a political party similar to one of the parties in England, Australia, or Canada? The path Rove is on is more likely to create a party like the dominant Mexican party.
Rove and company ensuring that Republicans lose again. Money helps you get ahead in an election, but you still need votes to win an election. Going to war with the very people whose votes you need is not going to get you very far, even with a ton of money. Rove has lost a lot of credibility, and I hope his big donors realize that their dollars are not going to vote in the voting booth. Pissing off people whose votes you need is a poor strategy, and a great way to burn your money for nothing.
I’ve said for a long time on this forum that the Moderates often called GOPe nowadays, identifiable by the likes of Karl Rove, etc. are hijacking the Conservative name. Their goal is to leave true conservatives without a public identity. They have been on the path towards scrubbing the Conservative movement for many years RIGHT ALONG WITH THE DEMOCRATS.
The Democrats are trying to cause Conservatives to form a third party to break up the opposition vote, as well relegate Conservatism, TRUE Conservatism to third party HELL. Oblivion. It’s what they are attempting to do to we the people.
We the people right now need to make up our minds as to what to do with the GOPe, drop kick their butts out of the picture, and I believe the way to do it is to get as many of the elected RINO’s the “H” out of office, and the TEA Party in. Two birds one stone (election).
WE HAVE TO GET BEHIND THE TEA PARTY IF WE ARE GOING TO GET THIS COUNTRY BACK. Let NOT they detract us from that focus.

I know that. I’m just tired of hearing all the whining about RINOs and the GOPe. We need to grow up and realize that the people we elect do not believe in our conservatism after the election. They have to lie to us to get elected and then we are shocked that they lied.
The Democrats have the same problem. Their candidates are communists who have to pretend to care for the middle class that they despise more than anything in the world.
But as long as Americans demand that politicians lie to them and treat them like children, the politicians will lie to them and treat them like children! I just want people to take friggin’ red pill and wake up to reality. Then, we can have a real discussion of a realistic future and minimize the influence of the extreme Marxists.
I hope there is a way to contact these big donors, and tell them that Rove is the wrong horse to bet on. As a front-man he has a very poor image, and that they are in a losing strategy with him. A waste of money.
