Two powerful conservative groups say a new American Crossroads’ initiative, formed to work against Republican candidates it deems unelectable, is just another attempt to muzzle the GOP’s true base.

American Crossroads, a super PAC founded by a group led by former Bush White House advisor Karl Rove, was the largest Republican super PAC of the 2012 election cycle. The idea behind the PAC’s latest effort is to intensely vet prospective contenders for Congressional races to weed out candidates who are seen as too flawed to win general elections, The New York Times reported Sunday.

The new organization, the Conservative Victory Project, was formed because “there is a broad concern about having blown a significant number of races because the wrong candidates were selected,” American Crossroads President Steven Law told Politico.

Law and others want to avoid what has become known as the “Todd Akin problem” in some GOP circles. Republicans lost two high-profile Senate battles last year in which their candidate had expressed controversial views on social issues. …

The dirty secret is out in the open now.

Rove, the Bushes and most of the Republican people we elect are not what they say they are.

The big money wants big government, open borders and world government.

Its easier for these big companies to do business when the laws are the same everywhere.

Follow the big money that comes into the politicians and PAC’s.

That money wants more liberal policies than the rest of us out here in the real world want.

Well that certainly makes it clear that conservatives are held to a higher standard because no one could call Biden or that moron Hank Johnson, to name only two out of many candidates on the left, rocket scientists. The left has constituencies which will vote for a candidate because he is stupid, just to show the right that they can. I wish I could say it only hurts them, but unfortunately these fools represent all of us to one degree or another.

The two faces of the oligarchy revealed Karl Rove and Harry Reid. Both with a common enemy .... conservatives. Still think the GOP is not just the flip side of the same coin? Rat/GOPe same thing.

Correcto. Ive often been critical of some of my “social issue” friend’s methods. Awkward wording and falling for traps set by RATS and RINOs and following scum like the Huckster have always hurt the cause.

I dont know whats wrong with plain statements from candidates.

We need a list of who contributes to this thing and make sure that it is known out here as an Anti-American organization and anyone contributing to it will be outed as a liberal in drag.

Rove is in it for the cash, like every other powerful person in the beltway. Liberal ideology is nothing more than a crime syndicate who uses liberalism as a front while they loot the treasury.

The worshippers are easily manipulated with the promise of a better life which never materializes. Meantime’ the admintration hands out vouchers to their buddies to collect on their way to Switzerland.

Want to see where we are headed? Look at Al Capones Chicago.

Exactly. Anyone who gives money to Rove after the sorry performance he put in in 2012 has to be an idiot. Rove is almost as bad as Morris.

Rove represents the fascist wing of the Republican party.

Welcome illegals as cheap labor for his big business buddies. Check.

More federal regulations to suppress competition for his big business buddies. Check.

Seize private property and give it to his big business buddies. Check.

karl rove cost Akin the election. Lying sumbitch.

In the primary, Rove's bunch pushed Brunner, while McCaskill ran ads that helped Akin, against the Palin endorsed candidate, Sarah Steelman.

I believe Steelman would have won, even with Rove pulling for McCaskill.
