Do you throw idiotic lega falacies around in every conversation you have, or only in this thread?

The age of consent in the Dominican Republic is eighteen.

This was illegal. This was statutory rape. Prostitution is legal, but not with minors or with a third party profiting.

We have treaty responsibilities to expedite the extradition of sex tourists for trial.

That is where this should go.

Let them lock him up in one of their prisons and try him over there.

Lest we forget---Harry Reid is a b-i-g Dem honcho---the Senate's ever-visible Democratic majority leader---Obama's point man on Capitol Hill.

So when Harry Reid loyally defends Menendez and stoutly avers that, "Menendez is my friend," Reid "forgets to mention one little detail:"

Menendez won 2012 reelection handily---with some 58% of the vote. How'd he do that? A good part of his reelection was due to the financial and campaign support he received from Majority PAC, a “super PAC” set up by former aides to Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada).

As the Menendez campaign entered its final weeks, the Reid PAC poured a hefty $582,500 into New Jersey to support Mr. Menendez’s re-election. BY THE WAY One of the Reid PAC's biggest donors? Menendez Dominican pal and business partner---Dr. Salomon Melgen. Melgen's "company" donated $700,000 to the Reid PAC between June and October.

(Cackle) Just more of those "annoying right-wing factoids" getting in the way of Menendez's Dominican dreams of offshore riches and non-stop sex-----not to forget Obama's legacy dreams: a permanent Democrat majority via amnesty.

IF Sen Menendez were to be found guilty of traveling to the Dominican Republic to engage in sexual intercourse with underage prostitutes, he could face up to 30 years prison. The appropriate law, which would seem to apply in this instance, is the Prosecutorial Remedies And Other Tools To End The Exploitation Of Children Today (or the Protect Act). Menendez voted for the law when he was a member of the House of Representatives.

================================

“TRAVEL WITH INTENT TO ENGAGE IN ILLICIT SEXUAL CONDUCT. “A person who travels in interstate commerce or travels into the United States, or a United States citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence in the United States who travels in foreign commerce, for the purpose of engaging in any illicit sexual conduct with another person shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

‘‘(c) ENGAGING IN ILLICIT SEXUAL CONDUCT IN FOREIGN PLACES.—Any United States citizen or alien admitted for permanent residence who travels in foreign commerce, and engages in any illicit sexual conduct with another person shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.”

‘‘(d) ANCILLARY OFFENSES.—Whoever, for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain, arranges, induces, procures, or facilitates the travel of a person knowing that such a person is traveling in interstate commerce or foreign commerce for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

‘‘(e) ATTEMPT AND CONSPIRACY.—Whoever attempts or conspires to violate subsection (a), (b), (c), or (d) shall be punishable in the same manner as a completed violation of that subsection. (rest at web site)
