The vice president then told a story to illustrate the "competence and capability" of the French military.

"I often tell the story -- I’ve been in and out of Afghanistan and Iraq an awful lot, several dozen times; and I remember the first time I was in a forward operating base up in the hills above the Kunar Valley, the mountains. And I asked early on in the campaign, before I was Vice President -- I asked my -- the six Americans who I was standing with who they enjoyed standing most together with," said Biden. "And one young man said, 'the Tricolors, the French.' And 'they know how to shoot straight' was his expression. You have a brave and competent -- and I say to the Minister of Defense -- competent military. And your decisive action is not only in the interest of France, but quite frankly the United States and everyone."

Before all the jokes get started, the French military members are far superior to the French politician.

Having operated with the French Navy, I can only describe their ship handling as "crisp."

Being called “competent” by Clueless Joe is like being called “slender” by Michael Moore.

Joe loves to spin a yarn.

Even if they are woven from Unicorn hair.

Ask him about Hillary’s Balkan Adventures when she saved the entire US diplomatic mission from sniper fire at Tuzla airport in Bosnia.

Indeed. The problems with their carrier (exploding propellers, washing machines that would vibrate the entire ship) for instance came from their industrial complex, not their military.

Had France recently elected a conservative, I don’t think Crazy Uncle Joe would have been so profuse with his praise.
In Democratland it’s OK to kill people with Democrat bullets and missiles, but Republican bullets and missiles are evil.

” who they like standing together with most”? These words have never been spoken. They are unintelligible and phony.

i agree with the stop the french military jokes. they stopped the germans and saved paris and won in ww1. the country was so screwed up from that they screwed the pooch big time in 1940. but they were fighting the last war because that’s how they won. the germans lost so they were starting fresh. and france didn’t have the time for space conditions like the soviets did. by 1944 the soviets were out blizkrieging the germans.
the us army dodn’t look too good in 1812, in fact they made the french in 1940 look competent.

so good on the french in mali.

Roger that bravo whiskey. I’m tired of the ignorant French jokes in general. The French are split politically just like we are - there are millions of French conservatives. Just not enough to win elections.

French conservatives live in Belgium or Russia like Canadian conservatives live in the US...

that way they can be parasites on TWO givernments..
The french are like Tape Worms where the Canadians are more like Vampires..

then you have you’re British conservatives which are more like intestinal round worms..
