The other day I saw a review in the Wall Street Journal of a book called Searching for Zion, by a young mixed-race (white and black) woman who felt “a sense of dislocation” and went looking for the place that blacks would naturally call home (including other diasporic states like Jamaica, etc.).
The amusing thing to me was that as hard as she tried, she found no place like home. She DID find that Ethopian Jews didn’t consider themselves black at all, but as “red-brown slaveholders who have different bones” and view non-Jewish blacks as “the cursed children of Ham”. Some Ghanians likewise still own slaves.
She also found that blacks around the world would scoff at American blacks as indolent whiners. The young woman has light skin and the review recounts:
“At one point a (Ghanian) taxi driver mistakes her for a white woman and launches into an unchecked tirade about U.S. blacks: ‘These blacks truly expect too much. . . . Don’t they know that if tomorrow a slave ship arrived at Elmina to carry us to America, so many Ghanaians would climb on board that this ship would sink to the bed of the ocean from our weight?’”
What a deadly reeking bill of goods we, and the “African-Americans” in this country, have been sold.
Let me give you a hint on how to control them. With policemen. Seriously. Enforce our laws. I don’t have the data together since I just tripped to it the other day. What am I referring to? How is it that New York, which has some very bad areas, has significantly less violent crime and a lower murder rate than Chicago or Philadelphia? It’s not the race of the citizens. It’s whether or not the police do their jobs. Apparently (and I am not in a place to back this up with the documentation and facts as above) police in NYC do their jobs - as in catch criminals and jail them. In Chicago and Philly, not so much. I’ve got a bunch of research to do (and in fact I’m going to get in contact with a fellow named John Lott shortly about the project) - but my theory is that when police departments don’t capture murderers, they murder again. We’ll see what the data says - the term of art to keep your eye on is something called the closure rate - the fraction of the offenders charged for crimes committed. Some cities I’ve looked at don’t charge anyone for 45% of the murders committed. That is wrong, and among the reasons that young black men keep on killing other young black men. The predators don’t get caught and punished. And yep, we put a lot of people in prison in this country. Based on what I know, almost all of them are guilty. Personally I’d legalize pot, and limit welfare to one child only (you get one mistake a lifetime). You’d likely call me cruel and racist. It’s just that I’m one of the 53% who are paying income taxes is all. And I have to pay for my own kids.
I’m probably going to contradict myself here. It’s the whole, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”.
Blaming gun mfg’s is asinine. That would be like blaming God or Mother Nature for someone stabbing another with an icicle (Impractical but certainly possible).
People die from drunk drivers. Mostly white males driving those cars. Should we ban white men from driving cars or ban us from drinking? Chicken and the egg. Either way, it’s irrelevant. It’s not going to happen. Nor should it.
Guns are a highlight right now due to recent events. Yet, the recent events (hitting national news) are whites killing groups or famous people. A drug dealer killing another sloth... who cares. As I said earlier, maybe it’s thinning the heard. No-one cares nor should they.
The bottom line is, guns aren’t going away. It’s not even remotely realistic. Not in any of our lifetimes. Are we going to lose a larger clip? Maybe.... That’s a whole other discussion.... And not a good one.
I hate to tell you this but ever since I can remember the “Black” leaders have been saying exactly that about almost every facet of life with regards to their people. And should some brave young black decide not to listen and actually learn something, become responsible for their actions, and heaven forbid get married and raise their own children, they are immediately cast out as Uncle Toms.
The truly sad part is, we have 3 generations at least of blacks that live in poverty precisely because they followed the teachings and preachings of the “Black Leadership” in America, Proud Demoncrats.
Boy do I hear you there. I actually know 2 policemen in NYC. They’ve been on the force for a little over 20 years. In under 20 years, they’ve seen a complete change in their policy. Where it was once okay to turn your head, you can no longer do that. It has turned into one of the safer Large cities.
On the other hand, Philadelphia is completely out of hand. Crime is so blatant there. Chicago is a bit different. Chicago is Midwest for crying out loud! There shouldn’t be crime there to the degree it exist! And it’s “Gun Free”!!! Meanwhile, I know many.... many people in Chicago. I spend a lot of time there myself. Every SINGLE person I know there carries. Legal or not. Why? Because their police force have shown them that they just do not care.
You are absolutely correct. True law enforcement can actually defeat a lot (not all) of this. It’s just not happening.
Return to the Slave and Black codes! You never heard of Blacks shooting each other back then! They didn’t have guns!

It’s amazing how changing one little word, I.E. Gun CONTROL is now Gun SAFETY, makes things much less threatening.
I hate to tell you but I did not say the article said anything about racism! What I did say is that the article, to me at least, seemed to be saying that young Blacks should not have guns because they will kill each other. And I don’t think I am alone in that interpretation. My statement was that I felt it was being insulting to Blacks and ludicrous, what part of that is racist?

That’s not implied at all; I took it to mean that if a black person were killed the perp is most likely black (which is absolutely true). Rather than seeing it as a smack at blacks, you could see it as sympathetic to the black victims of such violence (as their own “leaders” don’t seem to care).
The almost funny thing is that when sentences were made longer in the late 80’s and 90’s, the death rate among black males dropped. This is due to other factors as well, but longer incarcerations certainly saved many black male lives. Try pointing that out to the race pimps though, and their heads explode. The country is damned if it does and damned if it doesn’t.
Sorry, I don't agree with your interpretation at all. Horowitz made perfect sense with this response to the (old) NAACP lawsuit against gun manufacturers. He cited numerous examples with supporting data of what's wrong with the self-proclaimed Black leadership and the inner-city Black community. I didn't see anywhere in there where he even alluded to the fact that Blacks shouldn't be armed because they will kill each other.
The fact is they are killing each other and they ARE armed. Just look at Chicago. An article I read yesterday says that Chicago has more murders now than during the days of Al Capone. The current crowd kills at such a clip that it makes the St Valentine's Day massacre look like a minor shooting. Is it wrong to point that out?
Every thread that I see that references Blacks and the 2A here on FR says that Blacks SHOULD be armed, just like their White brethren and that disarming law-abiding Black citizens can be traced directly back to the end of the Civil War and the Democrat Party. The current climate in cities such as Chicago and Washington D.C., that are ruled by Democrats, that go to great lengths to disarm Blacks is nothing short of criminal.
Friend you think I am targeting(Oh Oh bad word) Horowitz, what you keep avoiding is my initial opening statement that I did not get past the first paragraph! I am talking about the statements of the BLACK leadership and what I interpret THEIR statements to mean. And my comment about a low tolerance to bullshit was directed at all the quotes from said leadership in the first paragraph.
