I’m a healthy 59 year old and gainfully employed. I have paid into the system since I was 15. The Ponzi scheme called medicare has failed already and that failure will double down as Obamacare is realeased in full. Be careful what you wish for. Someday the shoe will be on the other foot.

“. In the year before my mother died she would phone me from the hospital at 3 am crying “I am sooo huuungry!” After she came to stay with me I would keep a little box next to her at night with snacks and a sippy cup of water and she was much happier.

I hope your nephew recovers. Encourage your sister to learn all she can about therapeutic nutrition, as this may help his recovery. If he is on chemo, and has nausea, then Pantothenic Acid, 200 to 250 mg. per day may help.”

Oh, I understand, on your first point. It sounds like you made your mother’s last days very comfortable. My mom died of cancer, in the hospital, and yes, it was awful. As you said, patients are awakened at all hours of the night. And every time we went to visit her, her feeding tube was empty (beeping all the time) and she needed more morphine. We had to ask the nurses to help her. I’m sure her last days were awful.

And thank you, on the second point. My sister has done alternative therapies, in addition to the chemo he’s had; I’ll pass along the tip about Pantothenic Acid. :)

May God bless you for what you did for your mother. :)

Your mother died of cancer, which from what I have heard is a lot more painful than dying of congestive heart failure or Alzheimer’s. The Hospice did give me morphine for my husband if moving him caused pain, but since I did not move him, there was no pain. Fortunately he had a bowel movement shortly before slipping into his coma, so no moving him to clean up needed. They wanted the morphine back after he died.

“Before too long, even young people who have recurring heart problems, cancer, etc, will be sent down the path of pallative non-care much like Britain. What can now prolong life for even serious illness will only be given in the future to the rich and politician classes who have exempted themselves from the obamination.”

I agree with you. I’ve been hearing some folks claim that we are within 5-10 years of completely eliminating cancer and heart disease. According to those claims, major research hospitals are “on the verge” of live saving breakthroughs. I was a bit doubtful, but then realized that I’m sure that at one time it was thought that you could never overcome polio. Now we have vaccines that have wiped it out.

Now, let’s remove the market reward aspect of such developments and what do you have? Probably not much! I’m wondering if the research mentioned above will be abandoned.
