Police this morning continue their investigation into the fatal shooting of a would-be robber last night by the owner of a Tacony deli store. The shootout happened at about 6 p.m. Tuesday at Anna's Deli on the 4400 block of Princeton Avenue. Police say a 19-year-old man approached the deli's cash register, armed with a 9 mm handgun. He then fired two shots at the store owner's wife.
That's when the deli owner, identified as a 55-year-old man, emerged from the back of the store with a 9 mm handgun and shot the would-be robber in the chest, according to police.

sure sounds like a righteous shooting to me.
Speculation without evidence tells me the owner was white and the thief black and that is why they are still investigating and thinking of charges.
I could be wrong.
Doesn’t really matter what race the perp was, he is “out of business” and not the deli owner. Good shooting.
One shot in the chest, dead perp.
Yes it was a splendid shot.
Shooting at the owner’s wife was obviously a very bad career move for this robber.
It is when the investigators have all ready decided who is right or wrong where one runs into trouble.
It takes a while to interview gather evidence. That isn't done in just minutes
!
Particularly with a 9mm round. Do they make them in hollow-points?
In one article they wrote that police believe the perp left “his” SUV just a few feet from the deli door.
I am pretty sure they do,but not being a gun wise person I do not know for sure.
I am just your regular guy with a shotgun I got and use for hunting, and one 357 magnum revolver I keep in my bedstand-—loaded.
I do not study the ins and outs of guns and their ammunition, I only know what I have for my personal protection and that of my family.
I do practice once in a while with 38 ammunition that is cheaper than the 357 round.
Was just there last month for a brief visit.
BUT...I love a story with a happy ending!
“It is when the investigators have all ready decided who is right or wrong where one runs into trouble.”
But, the store owner didn’t grab a pair of scissors to fight back—it must be his fault.
Just what does that have to do with this righteous shoot?
Philly cops seem to be the most "gun-control" force in the state - as long as they have all the control!
