Top GOP voices calling for change (Top FR voices administer the zot)

“Change,” long the mantra of Barack Obama and the Democrats, is now clearly the watchword for Republicans such as Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul and Paul Ryan. The need for a Republican reset was repeatedly driven home at the party’s annual winter meeting here last week.

The appeal for reform is coming from unexpected quarters within the GOP--including religious conservatives who appear to be moving toward a more libertarian view of the government’s role on same sex-marriage and other divisive social issues....

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul told a gathering of Ohio Republican officials on Saturday that the GOP needs to be more welcoming to people who disagree with core GOP tenets on social issues such as same-sex marriage.

“We’re going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues … and get people into the party,” Mr. Paul said....

“We’ve got to stop being the stupid party,” Mr. Jindal told the 168-member Republican National Committee. “It’s time for a new Republican Party that talks like adults. We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this year with offensive and bizarre comments. I’m here to say we’ve had enough of that.”...

On same-sex marriage, an issue which libertarian-minded members of the GOP and younger voters think often breaks with the party orthodoxy, Mr. Norcross has similar advice.

“I oppose same-sex marriage, and as a lawyer who has done a lot of adoption work, I find adoption by same-sex couples not in the best interest of the child in an overwhelming majority of cases,” Mr. Norcross said. “But we are losing that battle with most voters — the polls are going the other way, rapidly. … Do not exclude people on the basis of their disagreement with you on those issues.”

I’ll take irrelevance for $100.00, Alex.

What a great time to be a voter—You have a choice between Dem and Dem-Lite.

Being liberated does not mean libertinism should be accepted.

Gay marriage is harmful. We need to NOT create laws which harm people.

One is not free to do everything one wishes...even in the most free country in the world. Rand Paul is echoing his father's libertarianism on this issue. Not helpful.

It is losing because the GOP establishment has no clue how to win elections.

The GOP knows how to win elections. They would just rather lose than see conservatives win.

What? You’re still alive here after bringing up the libertarian model?! I think those of the us in the (L) bent are the only ones whom still ‘under cover’ on this site, especially after the liberal Romney nomination. I suspect you’ll get pelted with the more ‘fringe’ monikers shortly enough.

Why, you should be fighting to (re)re-invigorate the GOP...from the inside. Never mind the same party has recently waged war on the TEA Party, given in all ‘pressing’ issues, increased the debt limit, fully funded O’Care/etc., called for strengthening SS/Medicare, etc., etc.

Nope, it’s the (L) that should be ridiculed, excluded and demeaned. I mean, they only want to: follow the Constitution, enforce the Rule of Law, get gov’t out of our lives, keep the U.S. out of policing the world let alone pushing ‘democracy’ across the globe. No, the (L) will focus, like a laser beam, upon gay marriage, weed and open borders from the get-go...So they are RIGHT out. I mean, it’s not like it’s the gov’t doesn’t have a role in any of the above, right!? To some (a lot) here, it’s all blah, blah, blah while they act like the RCA dog when leadership pushes Dem-lite policies.

For those of the board that doesn’t understand the above, that’s called sarcasm. If you continue to bow and lick the heel of the GOP, after having your nose shoved in the issues as above, I’m afraid there’s very little hope for opening your eyes....I’m sure the next Rino in line (Rubio?) will be more than willing to garner your vote, while the (L) tries to stem the tide of the fall of our Republic. He, for sure, isn’t going to push the Country back to the Right, if he showers platitudes at all!

...there are hundreds of liberal FReepers that not only agree with you, but would argue that your comments are not liberal enough.

Hundreds huh?

Ping them so they can back up your statement of calling this leftist homosexual supporter "not liberal enough."

Then they can get the zot too.

Who knows, maybe you too for advising a leftist troll to break the rules and sneak back into FR to continue to undermine conservatism.

Oh, and change your tagline it sure doesn't fit your actions.

“Hundreds huh?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m sorry. I was wrong. Meant to say THOUSANDS of liberal FReepers. And you want me to ping them all? My goodness. That would take a while. There did used to be a Libertarian pinglist. Maybe if there were some still un-zotted libertarians around, I could find that pinglist and ping ‘em.
Maybe there’s a Ron Paul pinglist? That’d work also. And as far as my tagline? I’ve had it up for years. It pisses of the libs here. And that’s a good thing.
The GoP has refused to lead when it had a chance to,, multiple chances to lead, in fact,, and yet, they deserve more chances?
They promise to be more inclusive, electable.. while all they become is more detestable. imho.
“Or will it continue to slip into irrelevance? “
With rove and priebus running things, irrelevence would be the answer.
Cultural Marxist, not libertarian. Homosexual marriage is about using the power of the state to persecute those who oppose gay marriage. This is has happened in Europe and Canada. Heck Catholic Charities was forced out of the adoption business in Massachusetts. What could be less libertarian?
So lets see what liberals do.
Probably support leftist homosexual supporting trolls.
And tell the a lib troll to sneak back into the Premier Conservative site on the www to post more support for the leftist agenda.
I'm sure a lib that did something like that would get PO'd at your tagline!
