The Boy Scouts of America board has deferred any decision on its controversial membership policy that bans gays and lesbians from Scouting.
Daron Smith, a spokesman for organizations national headquarters in Irving, released a statement this morning saying that the national board wont make a decision today on altering the policy.
Instead, he said, the Boy Scouts will gather more information and opinions from its stakeholders around the nation and then reconsider the membership policy at its annual meeting in May.

If that’s the case...Solidad, then men should be able to take the girl scouts out for a weekend. Wait, how about on High School class trips, women teachers are able to room with young adult men. There would never be any concerns with that...right?
Hey Solidad, maybe it’ll be okay if several super models take care of your husband while your traveling on the weekends..okay?
Me thinks they are getting an earful from a majority of their members, soon to be ex-members if they pass this stupid ideas.
What more information do they need? We have an organization dedicated to teaching and upholding traditional values. They have a set of values that contradict God's word, "morally straight", and every other aspect of Scouting. This will destroy BSA if the leadership makes the wrong decision - Scouting will cease to exist in one generation.
Well; hoping for the best and may the Boy Scouts prevail by the moral wisdom they so rep. . .on behalf of every Boy Scout; past; present. . .and hopefully; future.
Who has authority over the Board?
There needs to be a thorough house-cleaning before MAY in which the ATT and Ernst-Young pukes, and their minions, are thrown out.
What organization allows individuals with an animus toward the mission of the organization to sit on their governing Board?
As we all know, there can be some tough decisions in life, but THIS ISN’T one of them. The BSA should have decisively chosen “NO”, even.... “HELL NO”.
It is my impression that they have already decided and that they are now simply trying to evaluate what their decision is going to cost them.
I want to be wrong, but I strongly suspect that the BSA is now on the path of quickly becoming a homosexual cult.
Obow-ma's 100 day honeymoon will be over and I suspect he will be under fire from the left on some of the budget cuts he will have proposed.
All better cover for the Boy Scouts to vote "no" on gays.
I have a nephew and a good friend's son who are homosexuals. I do not want them to go to hell before they have a chance to repent. My prayers for them will never cease.
That we are even having this conversation indicates very plainly that the membership of the board needs to be examined and purged of anyone even thinking this is somehow OK..
If this was going to really happen, it would have been quietly rammed through when no one was looking. IMHO, no way that this passes now.
Biting my tongue so I don't get banned. Please tell me you intended that pun.
Who are the ATT and Ernst-Young pushing gays in Scouts?
Let’s hope that one of the last bastions in the United States of moral and honorable behavior doesn’t shoot itself in the foot under pressures from Obama and his teeming Leftist minions.
Heheheh, I love you guys.
Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T, and James Turley, CEO of Ernst & Young, are Board members pushing the BSA to change their current policy regarding homosexuality.
