An essential service run by Government, with the unions pressing for outrageous benefits and pensions.

In my local office NONE of the workers were even born in the USA. Surly. Rude. Broken English.

They have tons of equipment, tons of infrastructure, but no will to run it like a business, say like FedEx or UPS.

Dig a hole, then fill it mentality.

I keep hearing how the Post Office pays for itself, yet runs $16 billion dollar losses....that is how Government thinks. Not my money. Pay me for life.

Privatize it, run by a Jack Welch or FedEx, it could do very well...the issue would be many, many layoffs and a lot of teeth gnashing and CNN spouting by the Justice Bros. and other grievance groups.

I pay 95% of my bills online. Let ‘er die.

I like to berates gubmint, and pretend it is at fault for most evils in life. Sometimes I overstate the case against them. But not so concerning the Post office. Going in there is like wandering into a deleted scene from “Dawn of the Dead,” with zombies going through motions habituated during their living years. It’s so gray, humorless, and deadening. Makes you realize what Nietzsche meant by staring into the abyss.
