JACKSONVILLE, Fla. We're now hearing from Jacksonville's Sheriff about the Florida Sheriff's Association pledge not to uphold any unconstitutional legislation that restricts the Second Amendment. "You cannot legislate your way out of this problem," said John Rutherford. He sent out his own statement saying that he supported the proclamation, and says people need to realize it's not the trigger that's the problem, but the triggerman. "We've got to start having these discussions about this culture of death that we have created."

“We’ve got to start having these discussions about this culture of death that LIBERAL POLICIES FOR 50+ YEARS have created.”.....there, fixed it.......
Ok, so it’s mental health, but you can’t do anything about that either. So there ya go.
Does a libertarian sheriff believe that a Christian is mentally ill?
mental health AND morality
The gun control folks are going for the mental health reporting bills. Those are the next incremental step toward disarming the population. Those, plus all who’ve received restraining orders from quarrels and accusations will add up to a large portion of voters, who’ll want to make everyone else feel their situations (see media popularizing ridicule, etc.). Most of us are unaware of the lists of enormous numbers of organizations behind the VAWA during the ‘90s (re. restraining orders).
Gun control advocates only hope for universal background checks as an extra and are doubting that they’ll see the bills pass for background checks. Before long, there will be recorded personal histories, including data about firearms possession, of everyone with or without universal background checks.
Exactly! That’s why the “mental health” angle is a dead end. People A) won’t agree on what that means, and B) won’t want to cover the costs of treating the mentally ill anyway.
The whole thing is a farce.
