Chicago police no longer responding to all 911 calls
MSN ^

Chicago police are no longer responding in person to 911 calls reporting vehicle theft, garage burglary or simple assault in a change aimed at freeing up officers to deal with more serious crimes.

According to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times, the change came into effect on Sunday and also covers crime where the victim is "safe, secure and not in need of medical attention" and the offender is "not on the scene and not expected to return immediately."

Chicago authorities are hoping the change frees up more officers to attend to the most serious crimes, such as serious assaults and murders.

Instead of sending officers, 911 dispatchers have been told to transfer the calls to the Chicago Police Department’s Alternate Response Section, which is staffed by officers on light duty.

Nothing like telling the criminals that they now have practically free reign to commit their acts.

Idiots.

The people are being failed by government at every level. Government is becoming the enemy.

Al Capone would have loved this kind of law enforcement. Oh never mind he had to same with many on the force on the take. It appears nothing has changed even in 80 years.

Dialing 911 is Chicago’s idea of Dial a Prayer.

I still think Baraq and Rhambo need to deputize the Million Moms for Gun Control and send ‘em in next summer to clean up Chicago’s illegal guns.

Chicago leading the way.

Now, it’s got the most liberal crime-fighting regulations of any big city.

If people are in need of police protection, then, moving out of Chicago is the first step.

This is the Democrat plan for destroying America. The Democrats focus their efforts on confiscating guns from honest law abiding citizens and refuse to do anything about the criminals who are committing all the violent crime. The Democrats want honest, law abiding citizens unarmed, unprotected and helpless.

Dialing 911 is Chicago’s idea of Dial a Prayer.

I'm surprised they haven't outsourced 911 services to India to save money.

The Catholic Church has outsourced prayer requests to India....

This scenario is designed to enable Obama to declare martial law in Chicago. Then it goes to martial law in Anytown, USA.

With 911 not responding to the “lesser” crimes of vehicle theft, garage burglary or simple assault, there is bound to be a very huge repercussion to the people living there, and that the government officials haven’t even thought about or don’t care to mention.

The repercussion is that where, insurance rates will have to go up tremendously if anyone wants to protect their vehicles and homes. Also, those suffering injuries because of “simple assault” might need medical care, and medical insurers will have to bring the cost of medical coverage up, since there will be a lot more “simple assaults” occurring.

Some companies might opt not to offer vehicle theft coverage in Chicago, or home insurance, or they could leave the city altogether.

I suspect this could also be quite liberating for the good citizens of Chicago. T imagine a lot of them are going to adopt a whole different attitude about personal responsibility once they understand that calling the police is a waste of time.

Chicago is a Democrat Utopia. It doesn’t need police.

They can all just sing com-ba-ya.

And yet phone bills still have the 911 fee without the service.

A government that cannot provide protection to its citizens and their property is illegitimate. Why pay taxes to an illegitimate government?

That was my thought. Clearly as government more clearly demonstrates its ineptitude, people are going to be forced to sink or swim when it comes to taking a little responsibility for looking out for themselves, their families and their stuff.
