‘purists’

I was called that so many times for not being cozy with the GOPe in this last election, I guess I am one - small government, lower taxes, marriage is a man and a woman, homosexuals will destroy the moral fabric of this country (can you say Sodom), strong defense, guns, guns, guns, high number magazines, hollow point cartridges when necessary, freedom, independence. Yes, I'm a purist and I'm not voting for a candidate who isn't that and I mean it.

I have taken to responding to the ‘purist’ charge as follows...

The opposite of purity is by definition, corruption.

That says it all. If people are willing to compromise their principles to the point that they mock people willing to stand behind theirs, then they are as corrupt as the politicians they bitch about.

It really is that simple. They do not like hearing it. They whine and spout DU style BS to try distracting people from the issue. But it IS the issue. If conservatives compromise their core principles to support moderates, it is basic logic that such people are not conservative.

And they are exactly the reason we are in the mess we are.
