When given the opportunity to rebut the sharp criticism leveled Tuesday by Brent Bozell directed at Karl Rove, Jonathan Collegio of Rove's American Crossroads might have made things worse, if not personal. "Bozell is a hater and he also has a long sordid history hating Karl Rove. He has weird personal axes to grind," said the spokesman for Rove's influential Super PAC.

Don’t disagree with you guys.
And I don’t know the full extent of Bozell’s activities with Media Research, CNS, etc.
But when I see or hear him he is reacting to something those bad fellas on the other team are saying or doing.
My idea is that when Scarborough trashes Cruz then Bozell should be out there the next day pointing out that Scarborough killed an intern (let him prove he didn’t), lied on television about her death, destroyed his own family over another woman and left his constituents in the lurch when he fled Congress to escape the fate of Gary Condit.
And maybe Bozell can’t do it all but he can send out deputies to scorch the freakin’ earth. And he and OTHER conservative spokespeople have to do the same with Rove, with Chris Christie, with anyone who pops up and pops off.
This is what they are doing to us, day in day out. If we are to win the next election we’re going to have to take out the opposing messengers, including virtually all the media. Take them on and take them out, rather than trying to draw them in!
Bozell is the founder of MRC. MRC has been around for decades. They wrote the definitive paper on media bias, focusing on the bias of exclusion of news.
In later years, MRC created sub-entities like the NewsBusters website, which pre-dated Media Matters. Media Matters was patterned after Newsbusters.
MRC also formed CNSNews as an original news reporting site.
Bozell was much more fiesty in the days before FNC. He was usually the opposing view who was shouted over after about 30 seconds of speaking on CNN or ABC Nightline.
I agree with you that today, appearing on FNC Hannity might be too cozy an environment from which to get angry and in-your-face. Especially the way that Hannity moderates his show, wasting too much time on his repetitive jokes.

Rove is gearing up to do it even better right now, well before 2014 and 2016.
Hell, our candidates can run against Potbelly Rove.
