Karl Rove may be trying to quell conservative concerns that his new political group is really an effort to crush the tea party. But actions will speak louder than words and already, Mr. Rove's group may have a test case on its hands.
Rove's Conservative Victory Project has a stated goal of making sure only electable candidates emerge victorious from GOP primaries. But he told Fox News Tuesday: "This is not tea party versus the establishment."
So what is it? The campaign of Rep. Paul Broun (R) of Georgia, who on Wednesday filed paperwork to run for the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss, could provide clues.
He is exactly the kind of candidate that, in theory, Rove's group would want to weed out. Ultra-conservative on both social and fiscal matters, Congressman Broun has amassed a reputation for making inflammatory and controversial statements during his time in Congress. A doctor, he gained national attention last fall when he said at a sportsman's banquet that "all that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big-bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell." At the same event, he also said he believed Earth was less than 9,000 years old and was created in six days.
A member of the Tea Party Caucus, Broun ran unopposed in the last election, but some 4,000 voters in his district wrote in "Charles Darwin" on the ballot. . . .

Well, after long consideration, I think the General Theory of Evolution is a load of hogwash. But I don’t think Genesis can be taken literally when it speaks of six days. How can you have a day before God created the sun?
Some parts of the Bible are literal and historical. Yes, God created the world, but not necessarily in six days.
Well, never mind. This guy is welcome to his opinion as long as he stands for family values, the right to life, and conservative values. All things that Karl Rove seems to be against.
If I had the chance, I’d vote for him.
How can Karl Rove be considered a Republican when he literally launches a war against conservatives?
Micro evolution is a proven fact.
It is why you take the full prescription of antibiotics regardless of how you feel because if you don’t the bacteria can evolve and kill you.
The bigger theory of evolution may or may not be true. However, unless there is a booming voice from god himself, there is zero way of disproving it. No matter how unlikely you say evolution is, you can not prove 100% that there was zero chance of life arising by chance.
Let me repeat, life could have arisen by chance even if so improbably as to be close to zero. The chance is NEVER ZERO.
AND to declare it to be ZERO, which is what this candidate has done is STUPID.
“How can Karl Rove be considered a Republican when he literally launches a war against conservatives?”
Conservative does not equal STUPID.
My take is Rove is attacking STUPID AKA Todd Akin, Christine O’Donnell, Ken Buck, and anyone like them.
and sorry, but this guy sounds STUPID.
“Rove’s Conservative Victory Project has a stated goal of making sure only electable candidates emerge victorious from GOP primaries.”
Given Rove’s pick rate in the last election cycle, I think I’ll stick to making my own voting decisions...
Mr. Rove, you should give serious consideration to retiring from the political theater in which you’ve handled the curtain for the last 15 years or so.
Karl Rove is not conservative. Rove is responsible for STUPID policies like illegal alien amnesty and adding a new prescription drug entitlement to medicare. Rove’s STUPID ideas are the reason we have Obama as President.
Rove is a lib Republican and not a Conservative.
This war on conservatives has actually given me the freedom to vote for ONLY the candidates I believe in. I will never again go into a voting booth and hold my nose. I will stay home first before I compromise.
Game on.
Shouldn’t Representative Broun received permission from self appointed leader of Republican party karl rave before filing? Where is Reince Prince in all this? Has he and the RNC ceded power and leadership to rave? This is showing the Republican voters that in the eye of the elites they do not really matter, just send in your checks, knock on your doors, make your phone calls and leave the decisions to your betters.
Intraspecies evolution is an unquestioned fact.
But evolution in a broader sense just doesn’t compute.
I had problems with it when I studied science in school. For instance, how do wings evolve? Until they reached full size, they would be a hindrance, rather than a help. So, why would animals with quarter- or half-grown wings edge out animals that didn’t have such clumsy appendages?
Same with eyes, and other things. Very useful once complete, but counterproductive while developing.
Darwinian evolution has been around for a very long time, but they still haven’t shown that general evolution actually works. Quite the opposite. I don’t disbelieve in General Evolution for religious reasons, but for scientific and logical reasons. And when you take it down to cellular levels, it ceases to make any sense at all.
The RINO-Way has failed to deliver.
It is sunset time for the RINOs, and as RINOs like Rove have shown, they will still snort and bellow long after sunset.
Just as Big Government is not part of the solution, but IS the problem, so too are the goals of the RINOs for those of us who want Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
The present sorry state of RINO Leaders such as the Esteemed Sobber of The House John Doormat Boehner is encapsulated in the Congressional RINO Mantra: We have to find a Bipartisan Compromise that will pass both Houses, and that Obama will sign.
This Congressional RINO Mantra is directly taken from The Buckley Rule which states: Support the most Conservative Candidate that can win.
IOW, the assumption of what is good or bad is not a factor for the Country or the GOP. The assumption is that one can discern what will be accepted by others is something that can be known before it is tried.
Thus, Obama or Reid can immobilize the RINO dominated US House of Representatives by just saying NO at a press conference to any idea that a RINO might propose.
The result is that only 3 people are needed to manage the US Federal Government: Senate, House and White House Leaders. Currently that is Reid, Boehner and Jarrett, respectively.
Hence, the RINOs have insured that the US Federal Government will not be good for America.
The RINOs have made it very easy for the Democrats to grind America to a halt.
By rejecting the RINOs Buckley Rule, the GOP will open the Party to Candidates that are good for the Party.
By rejecting the Congressional RINO Mantra, the US Congress will be open to political action that will override the current 3 leader stall, delay and deny political nightmare.
It is pointless to blame the Communists and Socialists in the US Federal Government, because they are just doing what Communists and Socialists do best: regulate, Control and DESTROY!
Between now and the National Election in 2014, the only obstacle that needs to be overcome is the RINO control of the Republican Party.
GAME ON RINO Karl Turd Blossom Rove, GAME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Proudly fly your Gadsden flag, and attend TO TAKE OVER your local RINO Doormat Party Meetings!
_____________
Ponder this:
IMHO , the worst Goal assumption is contained in the Buckley Rule: Support the most Conservative Candidate WHO CAN WIN.
The Gop-Elite IN the Party chose Dole, McCain and Romney. All lost, and all were not clear about what it was that they were trying to CONSERVE.
If one is going to play Basketball, then there had better be a lot of air in the ball, AND NO LIBERAL PATCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The enlarged letters are for effect: People IN the Party are usually wrong about how people OUTSIDE the Party will vote.
Dole, McCain and Romney were supported by the powers that be in the GOP because they COULD win! You bet! When pigs fly!
_______
The second point is the Me Too mentality of the GOP Elites who want to compete for the Democrats pool of Big Government voters.
Hence, the GOP has moved so far to the left, that the bulk of the GOP is far to the left of JFK Democrats of 50 + years ago.
Without clear distinctions, the GOP will continue to be the fat kid Big Tent wanna-be Democrat that nobody will play with in the Schoolyard playground called The US Federal Government.

The last point is the Inertia of Stupidity.
Ignorance is when one has not learned something.
Stupidity is when one is mentally unable to learn something.
The GOP Elite try to lose big every 4 years - - - maybe they have learned that losing is a lot easier than winning?
If so, then WE are stupid for not learning that the Sun has already set on the RINO GOP Elite, the Buckley Rule and the RINO Congressional Mantra.
and sorry, but this guy sounds STUPID. And sorry, but STUPID is not a synonym for "somebody who holds an opinion on an imponderable other than yours".
It is conceivable that he might be MISTAKEN -- which does not equate to STUPID.
And it is just as conceivable that you are the one who might be MISTAKEN...
His war is against stupid candidates. And I agree.
Just because someone calls themselves a conservative doesn’t mean they get a pass on being stupid and believing in half-baked notions about race, gender or whatever.
A member of the Aryan Brotherhood might be conservative on economic matters because he hates the government, but when he opens his mouth about Spics, Jews and Mud-people how could you expect decent Republicans to vote for him?
I won’t hold my nose and vote for that type of person because I don’t want him representing me in an election or, God help us, in elected office, even if he can get enough morons to vote for him. That’s why decent Republicans stay home in Senate races like Missouri which was absolutely a lock to be in our hands if we hadn’t had that moron Akins on the ticket.
Time and again, some conservatives make that mistake, overlooking truly abnormal statements and weird ideas of kooky candidates who claim “I’m the most conservative of all”
Statements about witchcraft or ‘rape is God’s plan’ or ideas like that AREN’T conservative at all. They are radical or kooky and we shouldn’t put those people into races which are winnable by conservatives with common sense and intelligence.
You can’t put these half-mad people out front as the face of the Republican conservatism and expect to win, even in red states.
FYI, there is not a single politician who is now criticizing Medicare part D because the benefits are even greater than projected and the cost is smaller than projected.
Even Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin won’t criticize it.
And second, the only amnesty that passed was during Reagan’s term.
